An Open Letter To Parramatta

Fellas, it is you against the world! From the moment you pull on that blue and gold jersey, you are not respected as you should be respected.Referees seem to judge you differently. 50/50 calls rarely go your way.Don't get suspended because you're going to do triple the time that most other players will have to do.The media loves to ridicule you and the club. A chance at a bit of Parra bashing is rarely missed. In fact, you can sense the newspaper editors salivating after every loss, after every error because they'll be able to stick the boot in once more.Where does media agenda come from? It's obvious. They fear your potential! They fear how dominant the club could be. So they try to hold you down. What are you, the players, going to do about it?Will you give them the satisfaction and the ammunition to keep writing their crap? They keep saying and writing that you and your club are failures. Is that what you are going to let them continue to do?Or are you going to tell them to shove it up their arse!It is you against the world but f..k the world! If they want you to fail, rub their noses in it by showing these media tools what you are capable of.When you pull on that Parramatta Jersey each week remember what the media want and expect from you, then go out there and shove it right down the throats of Hadley, Rothfield and Kent. Make them choke on their own bullshit!

  • How about:

    Dear Parra,

Forget about the media, the match review committee, the referees. Just hold the fucking ball.

    Sincerely,

    Everyone

    • Hahaha much better.
    • Can't disagree. Just don't expect help from the refs when the ball is blatantly stripped at the end of the game, in front of the posts!
Seriously, I write this because the Parra bashing has reached a new crescendo. If ever a situation should fire a playing group up, it's this! We all want professional players who execute their plays. I never downplay the role that passion plays. I saw passion when Parra beat Souths earlier this year. I saw a professional Parramatta team lose the 2001 grand final to a passionate Newcastle team. By the time our professional play was controlling that game, and the passion was waning, time had run out.
Yes, give me a professional footy team and players, but please add a healthy dose of passion for the jersey.
    • And tackle the opposition!!

  • Love the siege mentallity 60s, the QLDs have been doing it for decades with great success, and they are simple feks, if if works for those dopes it should work for us

    • Spot on Snake. With all the crap that goes on around the club the players must unite and declare its US Vs The world! We supporters have been doing it for years! Time for the players to jump on board.
    • Cheers mate. As a supporter I'm feeling that way! Surely the playing group must be too.
    • The big difference Snake is that the Maroons had the talent to utilise & exploit that perspective whereas our mob use it as a cop out. Unfortunately the B&G team & fan ethos regularly defaults to self pity & excuses.

    • Snakes reference to Qld may be a little off target, but nothing wrong with a team rallying together and having a F@!K them mentality. I have played in a few teams and won comps that have managed to accomplish this. Much better than a team that is down in the dumps blaming everyone else for their poor results.
  • LOL Our halfback couldn't care less about anything other than
