An Eel emerges from the Fog. Stats corrected

THE Intrust Super Cup continues to produce NRL stars of the future with Burleigh sensation Jamal Fogarty agreeing to terms with the Parramatta Eels.

In a sign the Titans cannot take local talent for granted, the Eels have swooped on livewire halfback Fogarty, who has steered Burleigh to within striking distance of the minor premiership this season.

The 22-year-old had a stint in the Gold Coast under-20s but was unable to crack the big league at the Titans. This season, Fogarty has been in lethal touch and is currently the ISC’s leading pointscorer with 214.

Former Easts Tigers playmaker Cody Walker has impressed this season at Souths and with Kieran Foran unlikely to return to the Eels, Fogarty could be a scrumbase solution.

  • Does that mean Kelly will finally get the chop?
  • 84 kg?? Too small
    • Mitchel Moses is 85kg

    • Ross - just remember the Eels told Lockyer he was too small.

Alfie Langer was always too small.

Paul Taylor was too small as was Jason Taylor.

BTW - Clive Churchill only went around 78kg - way too small.

Preston Campbell played at 76kg(?) I think.

I can see your point for sure.

  • Hope he turns out better then the last half we signed from QLD cup? Cant think of his name??
Was a gun up there, but a flop down here
    • Yes thats him, thanx
  • Jamal is a very good player. Dont forget the standard of Q Cup is a lot better than the NSW cup. Check out his highlights. He looks to have a lot if time on his hands, has an excellent short and long ball and an astute short kick. Have him as no 7 with norman at 6.
I know people will say hes not ready but Jamal was holding his own against Ash Taylor last year and look how good Taylor is.
I would also go with Cullen as our hooker. Very sharp and straight out of dummy half.
We would be absolutely bonkers to go anywhere near Farah.
Young blokes are the key. We have enough experience in the side.
    • I think that we are short on experience with our team. We do need more experience in the side. It would be nice to fill at least one of these positions with an experienced player.

    • Fathead you can't be saying we should put all our eggs in a basket of a bloke thats never played first grade and has proven nothing, that sounds like a recipe for disaster imo.

Not saying the kid can't play, he looks ok but surely he is nothing more than a went signing bench player at best, this isn't the 7 Brad has been talking about acquiring.

  • Looks like a great player. NRL standard? Who knows. But I'm sure he'd be hungry for a go!

But they'll have same away jersey as they have to have 2 years of a jersey by rules, unless that only applies to home jersey."
