An Apology and Clarification

Hello everyone,

I am sorry if I came down as very condemning and acted like an expert. I just wanted to clarify my position and the blog I wrote about Waqa Blake. I am in full support of playing Niukore at centre instead of Blake if we are any chance of being a threat this year. I only intented to show that the defensive reads of Waqa Blake against Manly was all forced upon by the poor defence of the players inside of him, espicially Arthur. I am not trying to bag a kid who is only playing as a third choice five-eight and would of not expected a call up this year. I hope he has a bright future, but I just believed his defensive reads were horrible in both his games, but only Manly completely exploited it well. Thus, this led to Waqa Blake defensive reads looking horrible. But now back to Waqa Blake, I 100% agree that last year his defensive reads were horrible and I am not trying to make excuses for him. I fully sport him being dropped. Blake's tackling technique is not up to NRL standard as he misses way too many tackles and has too many ineffective tackles regardless of which player is inside of him.

Would I give Blake another chance this year? Maybe, as long as he has D Brown on his inside and shows improvement in reserve grade first. Still I doubt I would. I think BA should start training Blake as a winger in reserve grade so he can replace Fergo next year.

Do I believe that Fergo and JA have made Blake defensive look worse than it is? Yes, but regardless Blake himself has been a horrible defender at his time at eels. Blake and Fergo are completely incompitable. At least Fergo looked decent when he had Niukore and D Brown inside of him. Interestingly, Blake defended well with Dunster outside of him. But obviously, the Fergo, Niukore option is the smarter option for now.

I once again apologise for any confusion.

Regards,

Electric Anaylsis

  • Personally speaking for this year, it will be very hard to tell if Blake has many any improvements in his defence until he defends with D Brown inside of him. The only game was against the Broncos where he defended alright. But still that was only 1 game against a crap team.

  • Mate no need to apologise, your opinion is just as valid as anyone else

      • your very thin skinned Chris Pix, glad you aren't playing in the pigs.

        PS I didn't comment on EA's blog!

      • Go easy , some blokes don't get an oportunity to be correct at home and thus is their outlet to keep their sperms swimming .   More understanding and tolerance is needed on your behalf  , Chris .

tbh , I expected more from you .

  • What for , you nailed your analysis. You don't need people to agree with you, they see what they want to see.
I don't think anyone's making a case for Blake to continue defending at centre but it was hardly his fault yesterday. He certainly didn't improve his situation however, but he's not to blame for yesterday's shit show.

  • Thumbs up Electric ! At the end of the day we are all Eels supporters and want the best for our team and our players.

It wasnt that long ago that some on here were branded unicorns for supporting BA and look how thats turned these days.

  • Yeah no need to apologise. It's obvious you put a lot of time and effort into your analysis blogs, and you are entitled to your opinion like anyone else on here.

  • Good work EA.

I was one that thought you were being unnecessarily harsh on JA to justify Waqa's well known defensive issues. I appreciate what you're trying to say, perhaps not the way you said it.

So, I apologise to you for being being a bit narky in your other blog.
