Hayne is obviously a great player.
However there have been so many games where the Eels have needed leadership and he has not stepped up.
Will our team be better rounded without him. Hopoate has the talent and should be fitter this year.
I questioned Haynes ability to be able to lead a team effectively. Great Player but not a leader. And because of his ability, he has often demanded the ball at the wrong time and produced dazzling errors of judgement.
I'm hoping that the Eels can play a more rounded style of Football and not having Hayne stiffling the halves will see the Eels have an improved season.
Instead of looking for the miracle play. I'm hoping we can grind teams down with physical defense and high percentage attacking footy.
The keys to our season are
Corey Norman
Chris Sandow
Will Hopoate.
We've got the talent but who can be an effective leader in the backline.

Is the money spent on him too much? I don't know, but I think it was realistic.
Is making others stand up a good thing? Yes, but could of been done with him here.
But he's gone so onward and upward.
Yeah that comment was weird from a player that hasn't made the finals in like 5 years
If we are counting on Corey Norman to be our first-listed key players.....it will be a long season
Yeah frustratingly long
yes losing Hayne is a blow to us but I think players like sandow and co will step it up this year because Hayne not calling the shots and other players will not sit back and wait for Hayne to do something they have to do it them self's this time
can't wait to see how things develop in the post hayne era, i think it could be the making of our squad and club
We'll just have to wait and see.
Hayne leaving allows better distribution of funds within our salary cap. hopefully we can land a couple of fish who are almost as big as hayne.
