Last night - Reynolds was hit on the inside shoulder and wasnt knocked over and was no where near the play - They called it a no try
Tonight - Tuala was taken out and had an opportunity to stop a try from sualli - It was called a try
Am I missing something here ?

Yep. You're missing the fact this is East's playing tonight.
I was thinking the same thing. What annoyed me more was that the commentators did not mention once, while there was repeated replays.
Somehow the rules are open to interpretation against us and black & white for the cashed up teams.
The quality of refereeing in the NRL has been in decline for years. Who'd want to referee our game? Commentators bag you, players yell at you, the crowd abuses you, they have stupid stuff like the bunker that will analyse your decision in slow mo via 50 camera angles. Oh yeah, and VLandys removed the second ref.
Also the refereeing ranks were a massive "who you know" boys club - if you reckon BA is into nepotism...these guys have him covered.
It's a crap job and it's no wonder we have lost all the good ones. So now the standard is poor and we get massive inconsistencies.
Do you think it's declining? Or is it that we are privy to every single miniscule mistake they make which we weren't in the past. You said it yourself with 50 replays in slow mo. I think the standard is better, we just never knew about all the blunders they made in the past. Is the game better for it - probably not.
Of course the standard is better now. Go watch game from the 80's - they are knocking the ball on, throwing forwards passes, playing it incorrectly etc and no one gives a crap unless it's blatant. No one cared though because the expectation was different
That's it around expectations, fans expect perfection and this is impossible. I can't imagine why anyone would want to be an nrl referee.
Be interesting to see what happens with this gps tracking in the ball if that ever gets up and running.
I think the biggest problem with officiating is with the bunker. They have the luxury of replays and time, and yet their inconsistencies are worse that the on field refs.
Well said and absolutely spot on
They dead set make it up as they go
