They were both bloody awesome last night. Wicks has been on fire the past month and Alvaro has stepped up. Great performance from him last night.
They played well without a doubt. Having Mannah back also helped the team. The other player who I think has also stepped up a bit was O' Brien.
The forwards, well all the normal forwards who played everywhere last night done good.
I was not that keen on O'Brien at first. He ran hard but his tackle count was down and he dropped the first pass he received in the NRL for the Eels. I thought that his defence was ordinary. However I must say that sometimes you can pre judge a player and I did in this instance.
He is starting to grow on me. He is making good metres and his average metres per run is as good as any forward in the club. There was an instance right at the end of the bunnies game where he swatted Carter like a fly and knocked him down. It made me laugh when I seen it and as I thought about it later it made me realise that he is one strong man.

You could have 4.21 Alvaros.
To be honest we are getting some incredible value out of our forwards. There haven't been many games that we've lost up front. If Wicks keeps playing with this much heart people will quickly forget his past and remember him for being a tough and gutsy Parramatta forward.
brad arthur can build players , hes get better value out of lower ranked players on under $300,000.
but after a few years under brad arthur, these players want more then $400,000.
in semi case he wants over 1 mil.. and cory $800,000 ..
look at gordan on $250,000 at the eels what a great buy.
in the future never buy the likes of foran on such a huge proice of $1.2 mil.
Robert a very good assessment indeed. The last bit I think says heaps, & it should also apply to a player spoken about that may return next year.
I see no point in losing one player at that amount, & hopefully when he's finally gone at no cost to us, last thing that this club needs is someone else that will consume that amount of money again.
colin one of our best buys from manly is gatho, hes playing very well in my view a far better buy then foran and has real talent, but watch hes value go up, he can play fullback, wing, centre, even 5/8 .
has good hands and can pass and catch ok, he a great buy and on little money i am told $250,000.
alvaro not sure what hes on but hes improved lots and so has rory o'brian , buy of this season surely flash gorden , wicks is playing well, and edwards ok but not great defence on the edges ,manu wants more money but he may be worth a pay rise after last night, i was always keen when manu plays on the out side hitting the line like last night, by mistake brad found the best place to run manu last night when he was on the right centre , to me do we need hayne to play fullback?, i think its wasting gatho at fullback he played great at fullback in the bulldogs game, and then french is a fullback , to me we need hayne for one reason, to gain lost sponsors hes a head line act, so he could play 5/8 and cory 7.
so colin lets say, french 1, semi 5 jennings 3 taka 4 , gatho 2, 6 hayne, 7 cory, that to me is a very good back line mate , hayne will bring good press if we get a good result out of a new board and keep brad arthur and hes staff in coaching, i think we are going to be ok i think thanks col, nice reply mate.
