Aloiai as Edwards replacement in 2015?

With the loss of Kenny Edwards for most, if not all of the 2015 season Josh Aloiai is a kid who could be the surprise player of the season, he's already making his mark playing for Wenty and starting. He's a tough as nails kid and would be a better Lock than Paulo and even Nelson And a huge loss for U20's mid last season, proving an important part of that team

  • Parra have more than enough replacements for edwards thankfully.
this will give more time for Moeroa, Wicks, Gower and Pauli Pauli.Throw in Watmough, Mannah, Mau, junior Paulo and crabman and we have a pretty full forward pack
  • I certainly think that in the near future we could be able to bring in Aloiai into the first grade team. He hits hard and runs harder, certainly one to watch out for this year and could easily nab a bench spot in 2016.

  • I wouldnt say he'lllbe a direct replacement but edwards being out definately wont hurt his chances to eventually make the 17

  • Think he will play NSW Cup early season and come into team at origin assuming Watmough plays. Priority signing for mine, moreso than Pauli Pauli.
  • He'll be 21 next year and I think he'll be playing close to a full year of NSW cup this year. Age is certainly not a factor when it comes to kids like Aloiai, plus coming off the bench he'll only be playing an average of 30-40 minutes for the first year, possibly 2.

I reckon he and Moeroa could be our long-term edge forwards.

  • Is Edwards out for the rest of season, first I have heard of it. Is his knee that bad?

    • From what I heard its a torn ACL and requires surgery, I could be wrong

  • That's one I didn't think of Electric eel, and a good one.

  • Kenny was definitely one of our best attacking forwards last season but we have more than enough depth for he's absence not to impact on our final ladder position.
The reason why so many of us believe we are still a mid table prospect at best is the inability of our halves to control matches.
  • Ualesi.
