All of our talent just doesn't fit into 17

Fact #1 - We will not go through the season injury free.

Fact #2 - I enjoy hypothetical games.

Assuming that we could go through the season injury free, there is no way we can fit all of our talent into just 17 positions.

Starting Props - Poore and Cayless
Bench Props - Moi Moi and Mannah
Hooker - Matt Keating
Starting 2nd rowers - Hindmarsh and Shackleton
Bench 2nd rower - Ben Smith
Lock - Mateo
Halves - Robson and Mortimer
Bench Half - Kris Keating
Wingers - Grothe and Burt
Centres - Tahu and Inu
Fullback - Hayne

Players who have missed out - Reddy, Humble, Mitchell, Oake, Pele and Filiga (not in top 25)

We have got to be the envy of every other side this year.  Incredible talent and pretty decent depth.

    • I know, how hard is it? You can't leave Reddy out... but then, who can you?
  • If it were me I would leave out Reddy - he is the least likely to tear a game apart off his own back and in my opinion his defence can be suspect at times.

but I really doubt anderson will leave him out, he was great last year and was the deserved coach's player of the year.
  • Depth in the backs is great. Not so great in the forwards. Oake is rubbish, and Pele is totally untried. Time will tell...
  • i think inu has to be the one to sit out. reddy's defensive achievements went highly unnoticed last year (until he received the most underrated player of the year that is).

its easy to go to a highlights package of any game and see the exploits of jarryd and others but what you don't see is the trysaving tackles of joel. how many times he saved eric grothes arse its hard to count. his error count is always low and he has a very good football brain.
  • Nor does our talent fit into our salary cap...
  • Inu will miss out , reddys form in 2009 was brilliant , inu did not fullfill his expectations by a very long way and was extremely quiet .

REDDY has my vote easily , not disrepecting inu a great guy too , but on form reddy is in for sure
  • camo 73 you are 99% correct , only change is reddy is in inu out . reddy is a great finisher , is able to cover more positions , and is always 100% safe . his support play and defence speaks for itself . REDDY IN INU OUT
  • tom humble will get the bench spot mate but good side kris i think doesnt offer what humble will bring to the team
