I think the NRL Finals series should have the losing side of the top 4 teams play week 2 at neutral grounds! I think it's a disadvantage to those in the bottom 4 who won in the first week! The system really needs an overhaul! The current system highly favours the top 4 teams and that's why no team in the bottom 4 of the top 8 will ever win a premiership.

Solution - finish in top 4
Dont agree top 4 deserve the advantage
They already Get an advantage in week 1 of the finals plus the minor premiere get the financial benefit! Week 2 of the finals the losing teams of the top 4 playing the winning teams of th e bottom 4 (of the 8) should be at neutral grounds!
I don't agree although it sucked that this year beating manly in the final round meant we ended up with Melbourne instead of Souths.
At the very least it should have worked like this.
Parra finished 5th and won week 1.
Manly finished 6th and won week 1.
So therefore Parra should have played the lowest ranked loser.
Manly should have played the highest ranked loser.
But Parra’s reward for finishing 5th and wining week 1 was to go to Melbourne and take on the Minor Premiers??? That just doesn’t make sense.
It certainly doesn't make sense! It's ridiculous! Might as well just have a top 4 Finals and do away with 5 to 8 as no team will win from 5 to 8.
That is a much better way of playing the finals Muttman and a totally fairer way. If Melborne had lost and Easts won in week 1, they would have been on the opposite side of the draw to us. Thats the luck of the draw. But.....the highest ranked winner in the bottom 4 (of the top 8) of week 1 should definately play the lowest ranked loser from the top 4 - that is the only fair way to go forward in next years finals and it must be changed.
Storm deserved the double home ground advantage for their efforts all season. It;s more a joke that 5th plays 1st week 2 while 6th plays 3rd. The highest ranked winner should always play the lowest ranked loser.
It didn't make much difference to our season anyway. The Roosters or Canberra in Canberra would lap us.
Don't agree - i think the teams that finish higher on the table should be rewarded, particularly if half the comp makes the finals.
I just want the team to improve to get that advantage.
Monto if your home team owns a big ground and you get a second home game semi final it’s a massive advantage. Brisbane, Melbourne I think even Canberra and maybe soon even North Queensland and parramatta are at a huge advantage if you finish top 4. NRL are catering for the teams they want to succeed. The smaller nrl clubs are at a disadvantage simple
