  • AFL is the most mong retarded sport on the planet, played by unco stuck figures watched by braindead cretins.

There is a reason it's only played in the wasteland states of one tiny country.

      • lol AFL is a mess in QLD and NSW, anyone who thinks overwise is drinking AFL houses coolaid, they lie about crowd figures and junior participation rates. The AFL tried to rig the draft to make their two new Shiny white elephants competitive but 200m bucks later still no one gives a rats arse.

      • AFL is light years ahead in any aspect one cares to look at.  It has always been the no #1 game in this country and probably always will be

    • It's an abomination that actively encourages fumbling. In other sports, fumbling means mistakes/errors. And that stupid hand pass. That just stinks. Nowhere else on earth do humans have the need to do that action.
      • You get points for missing, name me another sport on planet earth that rewards you for being shit???

    • Regardless of what you think of the sport itself, in terms of professionalism the AFL is streets ahead of the NRL. Even the least professional AFL club is at worst, as professional as the most professional NRL club.

      They just do everything better.

      • Another one drinking the coolaid, they have blown over 200m on two team no one gives two shits about or ever will. All they have done is cannibalise an already struggling market.  The Brisbane Lions are a laughing stock and about as popular as Dennis Ferguson at a Child care centre.

      • Yep this is spot on, debate over.

      • The thing is Mack, I don't think the margin is insurmountable. The problem is that the AFL and it's clubs collectively decided to put the whole of game ahead of their individual clubs interests a long time ago. The NRL and it's clubs, and I'm sorry to say in particular the Sydney based clubs, still cling to their old attitudes.

The AFL adopted the "we are only as strong as our weakest club" mentality a long time ago, most Sydney based NRL clubs would rather be big fish in a smaller pond. Until that changes, the AFL will always be number one.

"This is how much the NRL looks after the "glamour" clubs. Shibasaki, current SOO and Australian rep, is on a miserly $140k this year. How does the NRL accept this."
