So put it bluntly, even after reading this i will say if they hired Flanagan i would be fine with it, not my no.1 choice but not my last choice either, not in Paul Green or Fittler category for me where i'll be apprehensive. However, i'd be lying if i said i was not hesitant due to his past drama. Now what he did at Cronulla would not be allowed at Parramatta and really believe that there will be clauses in his deal that if anything of that nature comes up he is gone without pay etc.
Anyway this is a good read, not to annoy those who support BA as i respect your opinion, especially you BE who i think will love this article haha, but yeah not putting this up to start a war between the two sides just a bit of thought as to what his past was, most of this blog we already know but it is still a good read.

I would accept Flanagan to be our next coach as there would be clauses in his contract to make sure none of the Cronulla problems arose with us.Rembering when Cronulla won the GF against the Storm Melbourne were at full strength with Smith Slater etc whereas the Sharks had some experienced players and a mix of young upcoming players.Listening to Flanaghans commentary during games on fox he really knows the modern game and what he is talking about.A change in coaching has to be made otherwise we are going to loose supporters and sponsors alike as well as crediibility.
I don't want to keep BA but I sure as hell don't want Flanagan anywhere near the club either.
In the end I support the team and not the coach so no matter who is in charge I will always support the team.
I think that is a very fair point BEM, even if BA is coaching in 2022 i will go into round 1 hopeful of a premiership even if i wanted him gone as i support the team not the coach.
Don't hold your breath about BA fulfilling his contract in 2022 LB.
There's a bigger chance of us winning the comp in 2021.
DIdn't say he will be there in 2022, just saying if he was scenario.
LB & BEM, agree with what you both are saying, while I have turned a bit in regard to BA and possible replacement, I support whoever the head coach is, & that means BA. I am however of the view, belief that his current assistant coaches are of no value and are most of the problems with the team.
I have watched and supported the eels since early 60's knowing about the team, along with my Late Dad & often late mum we would travel by PT from Parramatta to many locations and even as a young fella in the 50's I was there to yell at the team, today I yell at the box also want to kick it when going bad and have seen too many loses but loved the GF wins, and want to see more of them before I kark it.
To be an eels supporter and not just a fan, we support through thick and thin, & aint that the heart of a true supporter in good and bad times, So, hang in there and the future will be decided with supporters in place, along with players and staff/coaches.
Spot on bud.
Nice comments.
I've wanted BA gone for a long time, but if he got us a premiership i will be the first one to say im wrong as it means the club did something amazing and it is worth swallowing my pride for.
Amen
