According to FoxSports...

According to this fine institute of sports journalism, the experts at FoxSports namely, Nathan Ryan, believe that Kaysa is our 'Next Big Thing'

PARRAMATTA EELS

Kaysa Pritchard

While he’s nearing 50 first grade games, the little No. 9 is yet to declare the jersey his own but next season could be the making of him as a player. Having sewn up the hooking role before a knee injury derailed his season; the 23-year-old has shown a wealth of promise. An energetic player who despite being small in stature isn’t afraid to get rough, Pritchard is favorite to start the year at the Eels’ rake.

Now Kaysa divides many on this site, but surely with a U20's team that were runners up with a host of talent surely Kaysa isnt the brightest star in the future if our club.

  • Ray Stone or Reed Mahoney are the bright stars
    • I've heard the same thing said about a lot of our young stars who've really never made it...

  • This goes to show how much these guys know about Parramatta. If we are relying on Kaysa to spark this year, we could be in trouble. No doubt he'll play first grade and likely will do very well, but for Parra to win consistently will require a team effort and the likes of Gutho, French and Moses to shine. We haven't seen the best of them yet so they would be the players to watch,

    • This journo would only have a broad rush perspective of the Eels playing strength and may also rely on tips.

He would have no intimate knowledge of the playing roster or the type of football that BA is trying to introduce to the team

    • One of the things that the Storm do well is to know when to let a player go. The Eels have a lot of players coming off contract at the end of this next season. Kaysa could be one of them that does not get an extension
    • You forgot to mention he can't tackle.... I lost count of the amount of times he was brushed aside like a piece of sh!t

King will start & Smith should be the utility if needed. Just dreading if King gets injured... maybe that will be the time to blood Mahoney.

  • I don't dislike Kaysa, but if we are banking on his emergence as the ticket to glory then we are going to have a long long season.  I'd love for him to jump up and be the new emerged star for us but I won't be holding my breath.

Still, I hope he has a great season.

  • Thought we looked better in attack and especially defence with King in the team

Kaysa's smallish frame was one of the reasons bigger packs dominated parra. He's not the next big thing and should be left out of the 17.
  • Also the choice of Kaysa in that Semi Final - cost us a place in the grand final, and a premiership.

But some say " how was ba supposed to know Alvaro was going to get injured" ? - well those are the situations you must plan for, and with Kays and Scott in a one prop rotation off the bench, we lost it before it began.
    • That selection will haunt me forever
