  • Dementia is a bastard of an illness. The people you love are gone and in their place remains someone who looks like them but has none of their faculties. A sad, slow way to die. My mate's Dad passed away recently after a 6 year battle with dementia. I watched my mate mourn the loss of his Dad for years even though he was still alive, he'd checked out years ago. It's tough on the entire family. Very sad news for the Young family.
    • Is dementia where they're talking to you one minute and then the next minute they're saying to you "who the hell are you?"
    • Yep
  • Bloody horrible disease and a death sentence - it's just a matter of how long. Watched the old girl go due to this shitty thing only 2 years ago. They lose their memory, the rest of their faculties, forget even who their family members are and finally the brain seems to have a hard time even remembering how to advise the body how to work. Crap news... thoughts with the family. Keep rockin' Mal...

    • My mum has started this journey , very hard for a gal at forty not to have her mum much anymore ....:-(
  • Sad ,sad news.My uncle's Mrs in Melbourne has it.She went from an unpleasant bitch,to a forgetful unpleasant bitch. My poor cousin is now having to cope with both parents reverting to childhood.I hope dementia never visits me.

  • Dementia = sinners , keeps forgetting who he is and re logs with new name
  • Sheer arsehole of a disease. Thoughts to all of you touched by this. Just acts as a reminder that we shouldn't waste a single day we have with our loved ones. On a happier note, the Rootards looked like they are bbqed. What a shame.
  • You can only enjoy what time is left - knowing the ultimate outcome cannot be avoided is probably the toughest part of dealing with it... that and watching an adult go full circle back to almost being like an infant. But, when the battle is over, you remember the person they were in better days, not the person a rotten disease made them become towards the end.

I still see Jnr as the pack alpha though there are times during the game where it loosens up to much and he gets exposed.Ruck control is so important in the modern game more so now…"
