Highly rate Matterson... very shameful if he is going.
'The Roosters are poised to sign one of Parramatta’s most exciting young talents.
Ryan Matterson is an Eels junior and former captain of their Holden Cup side.
Last year the five-eighth re-signed on a three-year-deal, however with the NRL pathway blocked and the Eels under severe salary cap pressure the Roosters are set to sign him on a two-year deal starting next season.
While the 20-year-old is yet to put pen to paper, he has agreed terms and will add cover in their halves with Jackson Hasting expected to replace James Maloney at five-eighth next season.'

Hes not up to 1st grade standard.
And Luke Kelly is???? lol.
You can't keep 'em all. And whilst Matto looked like a superstar in the under 20's he hasn't really set the world on fire since. If he was going to be the superstar he'd be touted to be by some at an early age you'd expect he would've blossomed a bit more by now - he's turning 21 in a few months.
He didn't get a go this year and in all likelihood wouldn't have got a run next year, so better we free up the cash to fix the financial stuff.
Good luck to him!
Agree Capt.
So if rumours are correct and we are PAYING part of his contract at the Rorters how do you see this is "freeing up cash"?
cant understand why Matterson wasnt used this year, I think that hes in our toop 25. Maybe an attitude problem.Seeing our problems using 2nd tier players and he is in our top 25 seems really strange. Its a shame some of our better junior backs have never played first grade and are going elsewhere
Heres a few other 'stars' we have let go of recently
Jakub Loko
Kelepi Tanginoa
Mitch Allgood
Pat O'hanlon
Albert Kelly
Krisnan Inu
Feleti Mateo
We havnt missed any of these guys, we cant keep em all.
A valid point well made
