A True Parra Fan's Thoughts

Let me start by saying I am by no means an expert on the politics at Parramatta. What I am is a keen observer who only wants the best for the club. I have no per-disposed allegiance to any faction running in the elections.

I am also not so naive to take everything I read or hear as gospel. I take all the facts and evidence into consideration and come up with my own opinion.

Obviously each side claims they have good intentions but as the saying goes "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions." The question is - are those good intentions for personal gain or are they for the greater good?

I very rarely blog or even comment here (I do however visit everyday), but given the recent trolling of such people as Harrison I felt compelled to put my thoughts forward.

After much consideration I believe the current board is dedicated to seeing this great club once again rise to the top. The evidence for this easy to see with Parra now in a strong financial position, along with the fact we are now attracting marquee players such as Foran to the club. I truly believe there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Now when you consider such people as Roy and his cronies (some of whom are under investigation by authorities for various reasons) are saying 'Trust us we know what's best' I personally declare shenanigans. And as to Dennis, someone needs to tell him its over and he needs to let go.  It's kind of like he is stalking his Ex and getting his minions to give him reports on it. The simple fact that both these men cannot run for a seat themselves should ring warning bells not to vote for anyone who will simply be their puppets. I honestly believe both of those factions are just in it for themselves first and maybe Parra second (but only if it works in with whatever angle they are shooting for at the time).

I have been visiting this site for nearly 4 years now  and have always been impressed with the way  1EE has conducted himself. He is always respectful to others and his opinions are insightful and well thought out (the only thing I can't agree with is Seffa, crab man gotta go). He is happy to debate topics and as far as I can see is transparent in motives and allegiances.

Now on the flip side we have Harrison, who to put it pure and simple is a Troll. A troll with extremely poor arguments and very little in the way of facts. Harrison if your goal here is sway people to your cause I can say you are doing a terrible job. If anything your trolling has helped me see that Steve Sharp is the way to go and numptys like you are the reason we got into all this trouble in the first place.

Harrison I also find it strange that a person who says they have Parra's best interests at heart is sporting a picture of a coach of rival team?  Poor poor form Harrison. If you really want to sway my vote state who you are and what your agenda is. Until then get back under the bridge so the rest of us can get on with supporting the best club in the world.

Good Luck Steve

  • Well put!
  • Really well said mate, nice one.

  • Aw thanks for those kind words. Very generous of you!

Agree with everything you've said. I think you should blog more often! :-)

  • Well said
  • Yep as a central coastie who makes it to games when work and kids sport allows I have to say that sharpie is real deal. Was about to head to firehouse when even though he didn't know me he stopped me and my son to have a chat about the game that day. Was friendly and pleasant. We also gave BA and signed 3 internationals and another possibly on way without having to pay lussick and Daniel Harrison style overs
In contrast to Roy- I was invited to directors box through my brother in law and his work. Roy was rude and unpleasant. Stopped my then 4 year old going to changeroom after games while his 47 Italian businessmen went in. (No not racist my wife is Italian). With the two wooden spoons, the olgr investigations, and the appointments of sk and Rs as coaches I never want them near club again. They are there for show and for what they can get.
    • After being invited to changeroom
  • Very well said champ, you should post more often.

  • I think you articulated the thoughts of many of us very well.
I just hope those who can vote do, while many of us are still sitting out the 3 year wait to be eligible.

Remember, 'evil triumphs when good men do nothing'.
  • Mate, it took me ages to get on and post. And now I can't shut up. Post more often, you'll love it.
  • Great summation of your thoughts. I liked your analogy of Fitzgerald.
