We all love HOE,s and Daz,s game preview blogs. They have elevated our footy IQ which is very evident now on this site. I noticed the Manly support group has also seen the latest blog and was impressed with the quality of these inputs. For me it is a shame that we can,t get a broader base of footy fans to get something out of how they view football. This is a great advertisement for the club and the NRL in general.to progress the intellectual appeal to our footy audience.
I am not a business person and am not sure if this is feasible. Maybe there are some people associated with a charity of some kind who would consider printing these out and making them available as a gold coin donation at the venues we play footy at. Some business people or even the club itself could help fund the printing with the placement of some advertising.etc.
We have some wonderful contributors on this site who may also do some creative analysis of the good and the work to do on things that haven,t worked in past games etc. Who knows we may be able to reward some of these people in some way with something for their wonderful efforts.
For me, a priority to assist would be the homeless and disabled .?

oops My apologies to both HOE and DAZ I have,t discussed this with them and I don,t want to commit their services to something they may not be able to sustain.
You're too kind, Tad.
I think we pretty well aim just to nudge discussion and provide some standardized stats everyone can use in their own way. Any entertainment value is contingent on time and mood!
I think it should shopped to the SMH /DT
We complian about Parra not being included in their reporting - except when there is an opportunity to bash us.
This would help change that - having a sympathetic media seems important to getting a fair shake at the NRL
The media is fairly sympathetic to us when we play well. We sell newspapers, we get eyeballs on TV. It doesn't serve them particularly well to alienate the fan base.
We had a bunch of positive coverage of Jakob Arthur, plenty of positive stuff on Ice, Moses, Reed and Gutho all getting positive coverage. It's all about how we're performing. We perform well, the media wants to punch out of positive stories because we'll read it.
There is a simple way to do this and that would be to paywall those articles for $1 or something and donate the proceeds of that to charity. But this site has always been about the fans and giving them a free and open place to discuss footy and the Eels. The other option would be to try and attract a sponsor for those blogs. Traffic is up on last year, and edging back towards its peak years before the salary cap disaster.
Sponsors are a good idea imo, a few ads never hurt anybody and it would help the site.
Super - No paywalls! No, no, no. Keep it as it is. This isn't the DT. This is an Eels community with some outside visitors. Like paying to have a conversation with pals.
Ads are annoying (and sometimes embarrassing) - but are so commonplace you expect them. Even adblockers don't always work.
Sponsors - Good idea Snake...maybe we need a brainstorming session.
The site already runs Google Ads. They pay for the site hosting fees. But I wouldn't mind an actual sponsor for some blogs.
TAD you're a kind-hearted, gentle soul my friend.
My wife was telling me about some youtubers. Apparently, some are make a killing.
You'd need about 12 million followers, but if you've ever seen Daz in his budgie-smugglers on zoom (doing these previews)... he could do some serious damage doing Shakepeare.
Mate it would take me 6 weeks to try and put up something maybe half as good what you and Daz do. I hate seeing your talents not taken to a bigger audience. This is classic grass roots work to shape a strong culture identity to our club. I would love to see some local charity group see if they could use some of your wonderful work. When we are on a club roll that’s when it’s the right time to push our club profile locally.Heart and soul stuff
