There's a few areas Id want to fix at Parra. But the win & loss aside, I think there hasn't been a huge difference between the last two years. Except for the halves. I reckon the lack of game management and leadership in Norman and Moses is a huge part of the problem.
I looked over this years results and when there are 11 games lost by ten points or less, 5 of these by 6 or less and 7 of them with the same number of tries scored, it reads like a team that stays in contests but can't find ways to win. We've been in strong winning positions in recent weeks but still can't win. Isn't this a big part of game management?
The long kicking game has been awful, especially late in games. The attack and decision making in the quarter has been pedestrian.
Last year, the same team won 8 of their games by ten or less. They even won two games by a field goal.
why? The halves were functioning as a pair. They combined in attack, switched points of attack, kicked better. This year ugh! I'd want to sort these two out before next year.

Both in the forwards and out wide. Our game management has been atrocious and what's concerning is they don't know how to fix the issue.
I think confidence has a lot to do with this. Our halves lost confidence in themselves in game one, and never fully regained it. Norman and Moses are talented halves, but their head space just isn't right this year. Have they been trying to cover for a lack of an attacking hooker? Are they not understanding each other's game? Is their game plan too complex? Does the coach need to simplify their game with specific tasks so that they work in tandem and not against each other? If the halves aren't functioning, the rest of the team will suffer.
IMO the back 3 are vitally important to any team and our back 3 never set us up in return sets . Buying Fergo and possibly Oates will go a long way to getting team into positive territory on return plays .
I concur
Steady Dennis. Are you back on the turps?
LOL
I tend to agree however I’m pretty sure Norman is leading the comp for forced drop outs, that’s a pretty good albeit surprising stat to be leading when ur coming last and a big part of game management. I still go back to those earlier games when an inexperienced and over exuberant captain in gutho would want to keep rolling on when given an easy 2 points. This happened serveral times, we needed to take the 2 win a couple of games in an ugly and boring fashion to get some confidence and then once the pressure was off and confidence was back take the tap. That started a vicious cycle of pressure and under pressure these guys crack. Strangely the last couple of weeks when it’s all too late we are taking the two, I don’t blame gutho I blame ba for that
