A response from Leabeater to Steve Sharp.

This was on Facebook and twitter:Reality Check on Sharp’s Sad Media Propaganda.Foran can walk from Eels Deal if front office woes flare up.Sydney Morning Herald Thursday May 7 2015.Written by Michael Chammas. The article makes claim that Keiran Foran’s contract has a clause that he can walk away if the club slips into political turmoil. Well Chairman Steve Sharp, why don’t you show us the clause in Keiran’s contract that states this ridiculous claim, you can redact areas that are Keiran’s business only, but prove to members there is a clause as such. The reality that Keiran Foran will face if Sharp remains in power, is the very sad reality Jarryd Hayne had to face, where his contract was broken and forced his hand to leave to leave after playing his entire career at this club, with 2 years left on his contract.Forget the scuttlebutt about Jarryd’s NFL dream, yes he had always wanted to have a crack at NFL, but if Dave Smith had of given dispensation to the salary cap in meetings with Wayne Beavis, Jarryd would have been at the Bulldogs this year. Ask the question why are Jarryd Hayne’s unpaid contract payments from 2013, 2014 being paid out of the 2015 salary cap? Scott Seward admitted on Talkin’ Sport to the fact to “apparently” keep Jarryd on our books so he could come back to the Eels after he returned from the NFL.The question begs to be asked Mr Seward, how to fit Jarryd under the salary cap if Dave Smith would not give the Bulldogs dispensation to keep Jarryd in the game. The second question Mr Seward, why would you expect a superstar such as Jarryd Hayne to return to a beggarly board and administration who lost all third party sponsors brought to this club by the Roy Spagnolo board. Sharp’s absolute last third party sponsor, Bill Moss formally of Macquarie Bank, walked away in abject disgust at the shortcomings concerning business acumen and the want of moral ethics and common decency. What every supporter/member of this club has witnessed is absolute mismanagement and abuse of power to preach absolute fallacy to cover their backsides. The abhorrent truth of the matter is that Jarryd Hayne, a home grown superstar, legend and future immortal of this club, walked away because of the Steve Sharp administration. The manager/agency representing Keiran Foran will certainly earn their percentage in 2016.Terry Leabeater.Perpetual member #47856Player # 444

  • I do know that Hayne did not get on with Sharp, but I didn't know that's a big reason why he pursued other dreams. Not solely I'm sure. Interesting nonetheless.
    • You know Hayne did not get on with Sharp? You really are full of sh!t Harry. If you want to post stuff on here by all means do so, but stop making up utter garbage to suit your agenda. Your side is so desperate they are now embarrassing themselves.

    • The small minority that is you Harry can sure come up with a lot of shit. To now try & ruin what's being built over the last few years is sad. Do you not realise that this has to stop, this club needs to concentrate on the future, not step back into the past with ex workers that have fail before!
    • You are asking steve sharpe to produce evidence of the clause in foran's contact. How about some evidence of hayne and sharpe not getting on
    • Shame on you Harrison for this kind of bullshit. Members and fans are not idiots. We're been around a lot longer than you mate. And a lot of us are much more well connected to players than we'd let on. I can assure everyone there is NOT ONE BIT of truth in the absolute defamatory crap that Harrison is sprouting about Jarryd and why her left. It had absolutely nothing to do with Steve Sharp. Your the kind of scum that I don't want around my club Harrison. Take your 'my family and I haven't decided who were voting for' and get lost.
    • Ignore the typos, I'm wearing my cranky pants.
  • I refuse to believe Leabeater put that together. The bloke's flat out spelling his own name.

  • Leabeater = Relevance Deprivation Syndrome.

  • Leabeater is one of the reasons we have the concussion rule. Hayne said that he wanted to go to the NFL 3 years ago but couldn't due to not having a HSC. From everything I've heard, nothing was keeping Hayne in the NRL, nothing. It was his decision, he wanted to test himself elsewhere. The board had nothing to do with it. Hayne broke the contract, not the club. I sincerely hope that the club addresses this BS because there are so many fallacies in this article that could damage the club.
    • lol a reference to the concussion rule.  Classic.
