A Miracle Occurs

The appointment of Bernie Gurr is a miracle. The best thing to happen to the Eels probably since their inception. Thats a big wrap and I think it will come true. I remember Bernie playing for the Roosters and listening to him on the ABC Radio description of the Sunday main match. Always a man of ideas who could explain them in a rational way. I hope he is still in that form---I don`t think he would have applied for the job if he thought he was not up to it. A man of all seasons to take us into the 21st or is it the 22nd century.? Welcome Burnie!

  • Blasphemy! On your knees and beg for forgiveness at the feet of Jarhead Haynesus. He will wash you of your sin as you receive a load of his love. He will then perform a true miracle and turn $800K into $1.2 Million by the stroke of a pen.

  • But he gave BA some well deserved praise

I thought you were no longer going to approve on his appointment after that.

    •  Rabbi S: Just shows how catholic I am--in the true sense of that word. Bernie was being political in his first announcement. I, of course , question your assessment of, " some well deserved praise"  Give him time, and you will have no need to tell Bernie how to suck eggs on any matter at the Eels including the excellence or otherwise of the coaching department.

  •  Cart Scott : I was referring to the fact of his appointment, not anything else. It was a miracle that those choosing the CEO would choose Bernie because he would be so unlike themselves. I think we may agree that being a CEO does not require being a rocket scientist--most blokes could do a fair job of it. This may be a problem for Bernie. He may tie of the mundane nature of the job. No worries Bernie, go for the NRL CEO position and save rugby league from self immolation.

  • Hahaha, Robbie this blogs a miracle, I've never seen you positive about something before lol

    •  Snake: To understand what I write you must start from the left of the page and proceed to the right and comprehend it. Then you will see who is positive and who is not. Bye the way I don`t want to be always positive. They , quiet rightly, lock- up those people permanently.

  • lol

  • This is a really big step in the right direction. We have had what would have to be the worst board at an NRL club in the games history, but not just once, this crap has been going on for so long it is absolutely crazy. We all know that with the recourses the Club has it should be the biggest rugby leagues club in the comp, but it isn't & that is because the wrong people have been running it for at least the last 40 years. Burnie Gurr is only the beginning & with the right people at the helm the Eels should become a power house. It feels strange because I don't remember a time where we had a functioning board so next season is going to be a whole new experience. I hope all Eels fans get on board next season so we can blow membership numbers out of the water. Eels fans should be proud of the way we all supported our team this season but there is strength in numbers so lets all get our memberships done & show the rest of the comp what a real power house club looks like.

  • It's not a miracle. It's just some common-sense management, and what you get when you go out into the market and appoint the best CEO available.

    • 1Eyed Eel: That`s a miracle.
