When current immortals and other people were saying Andrew John's should not be made a immortal because of he played most of his career while on drugs the argument from the NRL was that he should be judged on what he did on the field despite the the facts what he did on the field was while he was on drugs .

The media still refers to Chris Dawson as a rugby league star and he played something like 40 total games in the 1970s. So removing Hayne's Dally Ms is not going to stop the media calling him a rugby league star.
John's is a complex one. He travelled to the school I work at a few years ago off his own bat to speak in a really heartfelt and honest manner (openly weeping ) to the whole school about his struggles with mental illness and suicidal thoughts. All because he sat next to a guy on a flight back from an origin in Melbourne who had told him about the spat of youth suicides in our area. Most humbling and powerful talk I've witness and had a real impact on opening up discussion and communication with lots of kids.
I'm surprised the students were able to understand what he was saying , it's amazing how everytime a famous person fucks up in life they all of sudden suffer from depression and have suicidal thoughts .
My symparhy lies with genuine people who suffer from depression and suicidal thoughts like Kids and those who don't use it as a excuse for their pss poor behaviour , John's is a grub of a man who has been constantly protected over his behaviour .
