A Finals Win

Well done BA and team on a great win. Moses led from the front. Penesini, Blake, Paulo. RCG, Fergo, Papalii,, etc we’re excellent. Looking forward to next week. Knights stayed in the game through sheer grit but were outplayed by a team that can compete for the grand prize.

  • HUUUGE match next week! Everything will need to be well oiled for us to challenge the Rif.

    Paulo and Simba on charges

Guth , Cyborg and Ferg injury niggles

Hope BA looking at the semi final v bunnies to open up the Rif. Yesterday was not the same attitude or player ensemble as v the Storm, hoping their mental fortitude returns for a shut out.

Pressure To'o in his face all night, same with Cleary.

Reg and Stone Cold big defence on Laota and Fish

    Keep Kikau quiet

    Penisini to bathe Burton

Ferg and Dunster , wingers are going to be hunted with Ponga style passing, it's the way to beat us. Ferg can't turn, he is a locomotive straight lines only.

I think if Moses gets fully involved for 80 and Dylbags gets busy in attack we'll beat em

    •  The media and everyone have been gushing over the Panthers the last couple years while I've given them no chance of winning a title.

Teams that win GFs are those that have tha alpha prop or best collective group of middles. I wouldn't swap  our middles for Penriths

While Yeo does nice things they are too dependent on Fisher-Harris. Everything comes off the back of what he does. Shut him down and the Panthers won't have the same bite. Souths did it well and when you bully JFH his back up isn't strong enough

      • Don't forget they were without their other big prop.

      • I expect Reggie, Nathan or Ray to iron him out (legally ofcourse). This needs to be done from the get go. Prison rules. Smash the biggest cunt on day 1.

        • LOL Parra fan . However once upon a time prisoners serving hard labour used to smash STONES . Shit don't go there so I better shut up.

  • I'm convinced, our biggest problem is that our mindset is dictated by who we are playing and compounded by the state of the game. Against Melbourne they were up for the whole match and in the last quarter, Melbourne had no answers. It was like we were in a bash zone and it was only when the siren went, we snapped out of it and realised we had won. Against Newcastle, we hit a twelve-point lead, were on top in all areas and so just hit cruise control. as a result of going through the motions, we didn't defend our mistakes and Newcastle came back (albeit with the help of the refs). The good teams never drop their intensity regardless of the opposition or the state of play. The Storm has won a multitude of games by more than 30 points because they stick to the script and when they have the opposition covered they either rise to a new level or at least maintain the pressure.

I believe that this has been our Achilles heel for as long as I can remember. To move forward we need to take the mental blue print from the Storm game and replicate it for whoever we play. We are only inconsistent because we are not ruthless.

    • I reckon we had one eye on the Penrith match-up for this game, hence the lack of intent for the 80 min. Easy to see why, given the path to the grand final for us. Agreed though that we need to find a way to keep that intensity up for 80 min. If not physically then at least mentally, making the right decisions and not letting up.

"Well Longfin as I have always stated, no such thing as a fair draw as you don't know what teams are good or not until the season starts. What could look like a bad draw could be decent based on the teams.
Raiders had an ok draw in 2024, their…"
