Culture is a very difficult thing to build. There are some things that are wonderful about the Parramatta culture. Some things probably not so much.
The one area I’m hoping that Ricky Stuart makes a big difference is in terms of individual accountability and responsibility. When you’re not performing, you don’t blame the coach, blame the bloke next to you, blame the weather, or whatever. You man up, and accept that you’ve not delivered and take responsibility.
So I wonder what message our board sends to the club by its constant side-stepping of any form of accountability. I thought last year’s Leagues Club AGM when it pretty successfully avoided having to front supporters over the club’s terrible form just might represent the ultimate accountability dodge, but the PDRL board have out-done themselves by re-naming their brand so as to distance themselves from all association with their past performance as 3P.
Surely after four years, you are at the point where you’ve had long enough to be judged by your performance? Surely after four years, if you’ve done a good job you can proudly stand up and say “We are 3P, this is what we have done, and this is why we believe we deserve another term”.
In this blog, I’ve attached the 2008 election letter that 3P send out when it threw Price, Grothe and Kenny at the electorate. I encourage you to read it all. However, here are a number of select quotes.
“We will be transparent and accountable.”
“We will fill Parramatta Stadium AGAIN.”
“We will win another Grand Final WITH YOUR VOTE”/
“Ray Price, Bretty Kenny, Eric Grothe. Who Better to guide us back by ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS”.
“Football Clubs are all about supporting Football teams!”
“In our view a football club should lend its support to all football club teams under its banner and those that should be under its banner and this is what we intend to do!”
And the questions they were going to ask include:
“Who are we looking at buying in the player market”
“What are we doing to bring increased revenue into the Club to allow us to grow and prosper in the future”.
“In line with our policy of accountability and responsibility, we intend to give YOU the answers that you aren’t getting now because as Football Club members, you are expected to be kept int the loop”.
“We will make Membership of the Football Club something to be proud of as it will be a vehicle to support in a practical way the team that we all love”.
“This 3P ticket when elected will commence our work immediately on securing new revenue streams as well as looking after our current sponsors”.
“No one has held the current board accountable for those actions as the Leagues Club and Football Board have a board that mirrors one another”.
“This new ticket will be accountable for all that they do”.
“We will accountable for all our actions”.
“By voting for our ticket, you will have greater input over what is done BECAUSE we are prepared to LISTEN to you. Something that is not currently happening! When elected WE WILL BE YOUR VOICE!”
I just hope all members review these promises and do as 3P asked, and hold them accountable.

And this ladies and gentlemen, is why I will be voting for Parrafirst tomorrow. This is a once in a generation opportunity to make a real and positive difference to the Club. Parrafirst are not just proposing to bring professionalism and accountability to the Board, they have explained HOW they will achieve this, and WHY it needs to happen.
I really do believe that Phil, Matt, Peter, Steve, Tom and Lawrence will add an enormous amount of value to the Board of the PDRLC, and pray that their outstanding credentials for this job are not sidelined by the sort of mindless sentimentalism which has in the past derailed any chance of achieving the goals that a Club as strong as Parramatta should have already achieved.
#GoParra #GoParraFirst
I will be holding them accountable tomorrow when i vote Parrafirst.

Come on guys i think your being abit harsh. Look at all the great signings the 3P guys have made since coming to power. Hicks,Webb,Tahu.Atkins,Walker,Whatuira,Billy Rogers and lets not forget the hottest young coach in the game Stephen Kearney. Seriously guys how much more do you expect.
Nah, the PDRLC has nothing to do with this board so they can't count them as signings. Actually I don't know what this board has done, all I know is that if Parrafirst get onto this board and the Leagues Club board we will hopefully see the NRL team moved back to the PDRLC
