IN DEAN YOUNG and Brett Morris, the St George Illawarra Dragons already boast the very handy sons of club greats Craig Young and Steve Morris. They've also got Mark Gasnier, nephew of Reg Gasnier.
Now Dragons coach Wayne Bennett is considering whether to sign another young man with a great rugby league pedigree.
Peter Cronin, son of Parramatta legend Mick Cronin, has been training full-time with the Dragons for about a month after being spotted by Dragons talent scouts.

Legend ... Eels great Mick Cronin.
Like his father, Cronin is also a centre, but playing for the Dragons will be a big step up for him.
Last season the 21-year-old starred for the Gerringong Lions in the South Coast town where his father famously owns the local pub. The team is also coached by his father and it won the South Coast-Group Seven competition last season, with Cronin scoring two tries in the grand final against the Warilla Gorillas.
Cronin was at the Dragons' pre-season boot camp yesterday, but his older brother Pat was pouring beers at the family's Gerringong Hotel.
Pat said his brother was ''probably a bit shocked'' when he got a call from the Dragons.
''He was in the Dragons' junior system for a little while, but he hurt himself,'' Pat said. ''He never ended up playing a game, actually. He's had a couple of knee reconstructions as a kid. He had knee injuries that kept him out for parts of years and a whole year here and there. This was probably the first year where he was fully fit and played the whole year.''
Has Peter got what it takes to play NRL? ''Hopefully he holds together,'' Pat said.

Take it easy, we got Reddy. It happens, and he is 21 already so I don't know how much talent he got. I guess we have to wait and see.
Bulldogs are saying the same about Daniel Mortimer.
What about a picture of young Cronin.
The Cronin's are Illawarra juniors and while Mick played at Parramatta for 10 years, he never left the Illawarra region .. pictures and Stories of Pat and Peter Cronin

Maybe The Crow thinks that his boy is better off playing elsewhere. After all he has voiced his opinion a few times against the Boards performance this year. Sad case if true.
Agreed, you'd think if he had the goods he'd have been in the Toyota Cup before now.
Just on Mick Cronin
* He played for Australia before Parramatta
* He could of debuted for Parra before 1977, but had discussions with Peter Moore from the Bulldogs and told Bullfrog if he ever came to Sydney he would play for the Dogs, but Terry Fearnley eventually persuaded Cronin to play for Parra. Cronin approached Bullfrog about the Parra deal before he signed (a real gentleman)
* Was highly rated as a Kangaroo Centre
He is 21 playing in a nothing league, I don't think it is a big loss to us
if micks son was a gun player he would be at the eels now at 21 years old, hard to live up to dad.
