A center option?????

Throwing this out for discussion, I am in two or maybe more minds on it though.

A couple of reports has ex eels player Kristine Inu returning to Oz, and open to offers, when he and Mateo left both indicated their desire to return, Mateo I don't think ever got back to any form and is now wherr????   OTOH, Inu played quite well after leaving the Warriors and going to the dogs, where I believe he did quite well and the other aspect was his kicking ability to witt he recieved the tag of ""The smiling assasin"" games with Widness Vikings. , he turns 32 on the 17th of this month so time is not on side, yet from reports was still playing ok in SL until he broke his leg last year, and that was the end of him over there, but he had scored 6 tries in his 9 his last few games.

At this point of time there is need for a 9 and another centre, for a one season signing I believe Inu could be a fair buy at budget price, he is a strong runner, and defender his goal kicking abilities adds another arrow for his quiver.

Thoughts?? & not I said could be.

  • Don't think so I think he wouldn't be 1st grade standard id rather give salmon and parry a shot

  • Great player. Too slow now. Id say yes as a depth signing.

  • 3rd grade quality at the very best It would be nostalgic to see him in the blue and gold again but he has run his race a long time ago.

    • Mate I don't drink, but read an article on him as he is looking to head back to Oz.

Im not fussed one way or another but as Monto says underneath, at age 32, and the leg problem its not likely to happen, but do clean breaks as this may have been mend better than ACL's and the like?

ATM the likely centres we have are Mennings, Taka, Salmon & Parry, Mennings walks in, Salmon suspennded for round 1, so its more than possible that Taka will be the other centre for round 1, Parry to me is probably the future for one centre spot based on the trial form.

MJ has had injury worries as such, so I see the 3 & 4 spots a bit of a concern.  The other option if short on centres outside of Gutho, moving Fergo inside, is likely Marata who played centre at the warriors, who could be a back stop.

  • I think if hes suffered a broken leg and at the age of 32 could be more of a liablity than an asset.

  • Still don't think his foot was on the line.

  • I think the last Parra junior player player we brought back for a last hurrah aged 30 odd was Bob O'Reilly and that ended fairly well (I don't know whether Hayne has played his last match for us yet). While signing older players from other clubs has never ended well for us, bringing back juniors is much less of a risk because they would want to win the comp for their junior club with one last hurrah. I would sign both of them in a blink pending medicals.

    • Our future is without doubt in the juniors, and I like what I have seen and read with Parry, who I tend to believe may be a better player than Salmon.

  • Mateo played Ron Massey cup for the Hills Bulls last year

  • Save the dough for a class player when the opportunity presents itself. We don’t need need more mediocrity. Be patient, like Newcastle were and eventually we’ll sign some quality blokes.

Good question. I'm not sure. Has a mental health assessment been made or is V'landy's offering a strong personal opinion?
