A blog that tips things on their heads

I can remember the day when I saw these very strange men coming ashore. It was illegal immigrants. We were being swamped by these people. Bringing their culture to our country when they should fit in with our culture. How do you they think they are. Within weeks my family and friends were struck down with this strange sickness. Our dear, half our family and friends, were dead within the year. We were very suspicious of the illegal immigrants, bring deadly pestilence, religion and culture that is not fit with our way of life

Who do these strangers think they are squatting on our property. This is our country, and these illegal immigrants should show some respect and follow our beliefs and way of culture. These bloody Anglo - Celtics should go back to where they come from.

  • Who would you have rather civilised Australia Vince?

    The Muslims?

The Aboriginals can count themselves lucky the Poms found this place, nobody else would still be giving them handouts 200 years later.

    • I am not questioning who should have come to Australia.

No, i am not talking about Muslims.

I am asking you to look at what I am saying and relate to the language I am using. The scenarios are very similar, but people think they are a juxtaposition.

Aboriginals might not see your point of view, and they didn't live on handouts for at least 70k years.

    • They were also not able to progress beyond tribal culture to develop cities, agriculture or economy for 70k years.... not a criticism and know it is an oversimplification however nonetheless true
    • Good point... define progressive....not having a go but to be classed as progressive the civilisation moves forward beyond its initial roots...
    • We cannot judge yesterdays issues with today's mind. Having a "footprint" is a 21st century is a term and one I doubt the aboriginals would have thought of. Living day by day only on the land and nothing more may be seen as "progressive" under today's terminology. However when speaking in terms of civilisation itself the term "progressive" at that period has a very different meaning. Whilst some may relish the idea of still living on the land completely isodlated, civilisation has progressed to counter disease, infant mortality, genocide and had a greater control and emphasis on issues such as domestic violence, sexual assault and war.
You may disagree with some of these points however I think it is ideologically naive to say that we should still live a hunter gather nomadic existence

    • I might need some after putting up this blog Doc.

Can I book in for first thing in the morning?

  •  look what happened to the Aboriginal culture.

They were right to be upset and alarmed, just as we should be now.

  • So Vince, what are you actually trying to say? Are you inferring that ALL 'white people' or ALL 'Europeans' should leave the shores of Australia? Because they've ruined the Indigenous Culture? If they leave should they take ALL the benefits that they have brought with them? Your blog is just a bit vague. Can you clarify?
  • What do you call this place?.......
    It's a barbecue area.
