Tahu

I reccomend to the parramatta board and stephen kearney that Timana Tahu not be resigned. After the latest serving of bad media i think he is bad for the club. He brings to much baggage and he is passed his best playing days. Bring in a young gun, Etu or Loko? Thoughts??

  • I don't know about his playing days, but his mouth certainly needs to go into an early retirement.
  • I think we need him. We got rid of Wright and i think we need to work with him to get him right over the next few months to make sure he is right for when the season starts.
We got rid of Jono Wright so that has cost us in the depth department.
So unless we sign a talented 3/4 with some representative history i would drag Tahu across the coals. I am sure Kearney will do that.
If anything to trial new blood i would put Loko on the wing for Burt or Grothe. Burt first.
  • Swap tahu for tonga.
  • Get Tonga anyway
  • Wherever he plays next year, be it with the Eels or somewhere else, he is going to cop an absolute verbal hiding from all quarters - opposing players and opposing fans alike. He showed in the Newcastle game this year that he was emotionally fragile and regardless of whether he should or shouldn't have played that game, opposition coaches and players won't forget that display and will bait him endlessly for the rest of his playing days.

I defended him during the SOO walk out when friends of mine were critical of his actions of walking out on the team rather than dealing with Johns face to face. But I must say I have lost a deal of respect for him since that episode, particularly in light of his comments Re Daniel Anderson last week. When the going gets tough, Tahu doesn't seem to get going.
  • If we are going to get anywhere near a comp next year we need Tahu fit and firing.

My biggest concern for next year (well, outside the position of halfback) is that we might lack a bit of strikepower out wide.
  • Same EelLectric, i am a massive fan of the monster but am quickly losing respect for him.

The worst thing that could have happened was for him to be selected for the 4 nations. IMO a six month lay off, with time to sort his head out, and get himself right for the up coming season would have served not us, but TT a hell of a lot better than being selected for his Nation. This latest drama only has TT with Egg on his face , whether it is true or not, TT is still going to come out of this vulnerable to further attacks with his morales now under scrutiny.

His comments RE Daniel Anderson, needn't have been said, I dont know if Tahu is getting given some bad advice, or whether he just needs to engage the brain before thinking, Either way the bloke needs to media ban himself and shut the fuck up, play good footy and prove that we made the right decision to keep him!
  • Tonga will want lots of money now he is back in the Aussie side
  • The latest round of bad publicity should not be used to determin Tahu's future as it is nothing more than speculation.

As to why Tahu has become the latest wipping boy for Parra fans I have no idea.

The guy is a quality player, fantastic in D. 50% of the game is defence and I would say nearly 50% of tries are scored due misreads by wingers/centres.

Tahu had a bad season by his standards but so did the whole team. He started great and won SOO selection on his own merits. But more than any other factors, for Tahu to succeed he needs early quality ball preferably 1 on 1...and it would help if we could dent the defense so they're not in his face time and time again.

I disagree with the way Tahu handled the racism row, but can't hold it against him.

I also welcome the fact he spoke out aginst DA. He is a senior player, and he is not breaking ranks here. The coach was sacked, He gave us an insight into why DA was sacked and perhaps let us understand teh decision of the board.

Furthermore, we lacked speed out wide.... it really hurt us this year. We have very few players who are quick over 40m.

If you want to pick on a centre, focus on Reddy. He went backwards this year, and his D sucks balls. Reddy's in my squad, but not my top 17.... we need speed.
  • if ur gonna get rid of every player in the headlines then i think we wont have any players left in the team by round 1 next year. LOL
