If...

If...

Beau Scott plays origin I'll move to Toowoomba.

Honestly where does the buck stop with these selectors? I'm passionate about my state and the footy team that represents us, which is why it is becoming increasingly harder to support them when the group of blokes who are responsible for selecting the players obviously have no fucking idea what they are doing.

For the last 5 seasons I have questioned many of the decisions they have made in regards to certain players and playing certain players out of position, regardless though I have continued to support the Blues through it all.

My resistence to their idiocy however is reaching its peak... I mean honestly, Beau Scott? *Face Palms himself, then looks to the sky*.

  • Again, it's a cynical move to shut down Inglis by facing him off against the best defensive centre in the game. Problem is, with Cooper and Scott in the centres - and with the likely prospect of no Hayne - where are our points going to come from??

Jennings, Josh Morris, Tahu, Idris - these are the 4 blokes who could create something out wide, not those stodgy old dinosaurs from St Merge!
    • Exactly mate. Beau Scott is a good team player at Saints as he knows what his job is which is to protect Soward.

I understand the reasoning of picking him to stop Inglis, but It's near impossible. If he is on, he is on and he will beat any player in the game 1 on 1 its as simple as that. By selecting Scott all we are doing is throwing a glorified second rower into the centres, which just totally nullifies our right hand side attack. I'd like to use the example of Ben Smith, he does a great job for us at Parra and he compliments our style well, he knows his role and each and every week he delivers it to 100% of his capacity, does that make him a NSW quality player? Of course not, he just isn't up to that level, I think even dragqueen supporters would recognise this with Scott

If the selectors wanted that type of player why not throw Luke Lewis in the centres? he's had a lot of experience there, fantastic defender, competitior and at least he can pass the footy and doesn't have hands like feet like Scott.

I know Saints are on the top of the ladder, but they are a superstar team not a team of superstar's. If they were so intent on picking "combinations" then theyve completely rooted themselves by failing to see the most important part of the combinations at Saints is Soward, without him these dragons players at origin are lost and ineffective.

At origin imo we don't have time to build a superstar team, QLD have been able to do this as they have held the same group of core players together for 5 seasons now. NSW need to chock it the team full of game breakers and hope for the best, because these average players just don't have enough to challenge QLD its as simple as that. When QLD won their first series what did they do? They chose the best player for each position they had and showed loyalty, I understand this has been difficult for NSW with the form of players but I honestly think we could pick a 17 on pure class, yet the selectors continue to pick nuffies or play blokes out of position.

      ahhhhhhh frustrating shit.
  • i agree bourbs, must be jenning, morris centres with morris, tahu wings.

If hayne is out put Dugan at 1 and the points will flow.
    • whats Toowoomba like ?
      Festivals
The annual Flower Festival is a chance to show off Toowoomba's parks and gardens at their best

Toowoomba is nationally renowned for its annual Flower Festival, held each year in September. Many of the city's major parks and gardens are especially prepared for the Festival, which also includes a prominent Home Garden Competition, with persons able to visit participating homes and gardens for inspection, and a Parade with flower-themed floats. Buses[4] bring people from around the nation, and a popular way to arrive at the Festival from Brisbane is on specially chartered retired steam or diesel train[5], which captures the yesteryear aspect of travel to Toowoomba in 19th century wooden carriages.
  • blueNgold you are probably like the rest of us.
Come SOO time of year we just gotta get involved.
RL should be declared an addiction for the damage it does to us - but we keep coming back
I skipped one year of RL completely and the withdrawals were not pretty.

BTW - Toowooba isn't all bad if you only go there in late spring or early summer.
Nice place to drive through when you going somewhere else.
  • Credit where Credits due, Scott was one of the players who could hold his head high from last night.

Sure he did have a few barrys but in the most part he was solid and had a dig.

His 3 Dragons teammates on the other hand rrrrrrrrrrrr.
    • Does this mean you have changed your mind about moving? lol

Weyman had a go and didn't back away from the biff.
Morris was crueled by that cripple Cooper.
Should have been awarded that try - Cronk ran straight at Gidley and not after the ball.
But you expect that sort of thing from Storm players.
Not all bad for the Dragons contingent.

Like you say - credit were credit is due
  • So Mr blueNgold, hows the weather up there in Toowoomba or did you welch on your empty threat to move on account of Beau Scott playing SOO?
