Lets forget that Choc could get an insurance payout.
We need to clear $570k off our cap and real quick.
Now unless I am missing something I cannot see how we can do this
Lets look at Ryan Morgan say he was on $300k.We are halfway through the year so he has $150k to be paid for this year.Melbourne take on the whole amount as they approached us (if lucky)
Now any other club knows how desperate we are say we let Junior go early. There is no way they will take on his whole contract.Say he was on $250 (maybe less) even if Canberra took on whole contract that's only $125k
So in the scenarios above we would still need to free up $290k of contracts
I just cant see how we can do it of course unless Choc gets an insurance payout
Am I missing something is the $570k based on on the Full Year Contract

It would be all of the players contract value for that period. You do not depreciate their wage as the season goes on.
Have to agree.
It pains me to say but the players need to play for pride, for the colours and for the fans and then get our cap ready for next year. Forget 2016 lets just destroy every side we play and ruin their chances.
Tend to agree, play for no points and keep your team together.
Reality is without Watmough we cant get to the magic figure anyway and maybe thats what the NRL were hoping for given the Journos have said prior that we will not play finals footy.
So without these TPA being loaded onto our Cap this year and with Watmough taking up $750k but not playing, how well are we going this year.
We are actually $750K under the cap given Watmough probably wont play again.
Bottom line is we can't become cap compliant in such a short time frame at this stage of the season - every teams roster and salary cap are set for 2016. Well not by trying to offload players anyway, if by some miracle the whole Watmough retirement thing gets sorted ASAP but can't see that happening until it's too late. This year is over I'm afraid.
It's worse than that. Because we are 1/3rd of the way through the season all players have a third already counted in the cap. To get $570k off in the remaining 2/3rds of the season the club will need to cut $855k of contracts so that 2/3rds of that will equal $570k. That's not as easy as you may think.
