3 reasosn why we lost

hey guys im pissed so im just going to say thisin my opinion there were 3 reasons why we lost1. the greg inglis try - our players who were close to the ball just stared at it and let him score. i think if we difussed that it would have been a different story.2. 5 mins to go, down by 6 - we had got ourselves back into the match and we were 10m out from their line. we had the best chance to score. it was the last tackle and who gets the ball, todd lowrie. if robson or mortimer had got it they would have put a decent bomb up to grothe's wing and he would have been able to contest for it.3. 3 mins to go, melbourne have the ball - just after we had stuffed up a chance to go 22-22 melbourne have the ball and the ref blows the whistle for a stip. it was SO obvious that he had lost it but tony archer blows the whistle. if we had gotten that back we might have scored.

  • Have to agree with you here, Lowrie played so well against the bulldogs last week.. not so good this week. One more though..they managed to shut down hayne.
  • its over man have a cry like the rest of us then shake it of and get ready for next year
  • true-true-true
We outplayed them-they were shattered & we were coming home. Good coaching by Bellamy to kick for Inglis....sadly poor effort on that occasion by us. Sux hey, all there tries were soft
  • well i just got home from the game. as much as I'd love to blame ref calls, I just can't. we let in three soft tries, and you can't win Grand Finals by letting in soft tries.

that being said. I'm still a few beers in and will no doubt be less phylosophical tomorrow.

it stings, but hey, we gave it a good crack. we just needed a little more heart in the first half.
  • I have my own 3. 1 of them is the same as yours.

1 - missed tackle on Hoffman, allowing him to score
2 - failing to contest the bomb that Inglis caught and scored off
3 - missed tackle on Cronk which led to Blair's try.

They were the 3 moments that cost us the premiership.

I'm sad and disappointed but I think our boys can hold their heads high. They have achieved some awesome things this year and the try to Fui was worth the admission cost alone.
    • ditto...they were the softest of the softest tries ever. Bright side though, the boys never once turned up their toes and just gave it their best shot. 2nd half and in particular the last 30 minutes we were the better team.

      My 3 are ifs
1 - If only we weren't over-awed defensively in first half
2- If only Tolman was penalised for laying in the ruck, poor old Lowrie wouldn't have got the ball on tackle 5
3 - If only the correct decision of knock-on against Slater was ruled
  • I think slow play the balls were the real reason we lost the game.. the refs were taking forever to call held, their first try came not long after a for sure held tackle and the player .. cant remember who .. got up and kept running! All our players thought it was a completed tackle!
    • The ref actually called "release: then Turner got up an ran another 15 metres ....that resulted in the try as our defence never set after that

that was the biggest Bullshit call in the game......If he was to scared to blow a penalty then he should have had turner return to play the ball on the mark. The correct decision was to award us a penalty cos when archer called release, that meant the tackle had been completed, so how the Fuck can Turner get up and run another 15 metres without getting penalised????
    • steve turner, that was such bullshit, ref was like held, release and he got up and ran again i was like wtf??
  • The set of six where Hoffman scored the first try (first 5 mins)

The ref actually called "release: then Turner got up an ran another 15 metres ....that resulted in the Hoffman try as our defence never set after that

that was the biggest Bullshit call in the game......If he was to scared to blow a penalty then he should have had turner return to play the ball on the mark.
