3 key positions required for 2019!!

1. We need a quality hooker haven’t had one since we lost peatsy. Love Mahoney but need a experience hard head hooker.2. We need another hard edged front rower with some mongrel. Kane Evans needs to be released.3. We need a half back Mitchell Moses is not an organiser he’s a running 5/8. Hopefully we can fuck off norman and get some one like a Maloney. If we fail secure these players it’s another year down the drain.

  • Parcel ,Taupau ,Croft

    • Surely Melbourne won't release Croft. He's a work in progress for sure but the amount of work put into him would be down the drain and all for nothing if they released him at this stage. He's only 21. If they do though you can guarantee they know some serious fundamental issues with his game and they know they can't ever be fixed.
  • Points 1&3 agreed... Evans seems to have found some form last quarter of the season. Don't forget he broke his wrist in the off-season and is playing behind a terrible forward pack. I'd hold him another season.
  • Evans is on a contract. No such thing as release!

  • I believe a lot of the problems we have had this year have been mental. Once the players started losing belief in themselves it was always going to be very difficult to get out of that. The club needs to get sport psychologists in during the off-season to understand what is behind all this. The players have the talent, just not the mental aptitude. Don't forget that we basically lost Scott for the entire season this year. He kept the players mentally alert over the past few years with his no-nonsense attitude, but we had no leader this year who could do that. How to fix that for 2019? I don't know. If we can't get another Beau Scott then it will need to come from the coaching staff.

    • I agree that until this year Scott generally played his part well and his toughness and grit were great for the side when he first came in.

Be careful talking about Scott favourably around though, people don't forget that Penrith game where he got moved to centre mid game after a few injuries (I think it was 2016). Geez he was bad that game. Like as bad as it gets.
      • Yeah centre is not his position.

  • The club needs to work on how to close out games and get into the grind like. 4-5 matches this season were lost in the final 10 minutes, most notably against St George and Canterbury. If they win both of those matches it's Manly who finish last.
  • We need new supporters
  • I think we need taupau or klemmer or both get Croft let Norman go and have Beau Scott as our defence coach and get Michael Ennis here to help young Mahoney

"Gucci,  You can't find this article anywhere. I took quotes from The NRL Podcast (Episode 2, 19/11) that relate to the Eels (19th-26th minute) and added a bit of extra info and organized it.
