Its hard again tonight to award a losing team, but here goes.

3 points - Hopgood.      Again tackled everything, topped the tackle count, Most Metres ran for a forward, most post contact metres. Offloads. Was in it all.

2 points - Matterson.    Super Sub, ran hard all night, tackled well, was a class above a lot of Eels tonight. Set up a nice try with the boot.

1 point - Davey.            Didnt stop all night, second most tackles with only 1 miss.

Special mention - Without any ball our backs couldnt get any points tonight. Lane was on his way to an Eels MOM performance before being injured.

Overall I honestly didn't think we were too bad. The ref fucked us hard without spitting on it first the prick.

We completed poorly again but I'll defend that by saying we were constantly chasing the game because of the poor refereeing. It's shameful that we had to sit through that biased cheating refereeing performance.

    • The thing is we weren't too bad yet still couldn't beat Canberra, a team that has beaten only Brisbane and Redcliffe who are good teams other than that are flat track bullies.

Being good is not enough now.

      • I don't think there is a team that is not capable of beating any other on a given day....the possible difference being Parra versus Souths...(irony).

The answer to being good is not enough is a cycle we all go through, imagine being a Rooster supporter with their ensemble and trying to come to terms with what Penrith did to them.

Perspective is something we badly lack on here LB

    • Agree Heisen.

    • Frank, yeah, I agree. We weren't too bad and the refs gave us the rough end of the pineapple. The Raiders made plenty of high tackles that went through to the keeper.

But, we let in 3 tries, 18 points in 9 minutes on either side of the break. That killed us.

We tried hard and had plenty of good performers (Hopgood, Matto, Matto, Penisini, the spine tried hard as did the forwards) but when you look at it - in the net equation - they outmuscled us mentally and physically.

We lost too many critical moments.

    • Frank, also agree with this.

I was at the game & the inept performance of Atkins, the video ref & even the touchies, was mind boggling.

Im not one to focus on referee's, understand its a hard, but last night had nothing to do with the degree of difficulty in their job.

We are struggling mentally, & we make a lot of poor mistakes at critical times -  we can all see that. We need to 100% accept responsibility for another game where we failed to capitalise.

But mistakes, missed tackles, poor reads also come when under pressure & we had pressure applied to us the entire game through critically timed decisions in Raiders favour.

Right now, we are just not good enough to overcome that as a Panthers or Souths might.

Without Moses, losing Lane, in an uncomfortable away game in the cold, we just needed a 50-50 shot & the outcome could’ve been different.

probably about 500k a year between them at best . That's the big problem when you can't put a big contract player in your best 3 . Maybe could've put Matto in there somewhere which would make it a little more respectable.

    • Brown tried his guts out and so did Jake....but you failed to mention that money paid is meaningless in such situations i.e. look at my quote about Roosters.....

Its always easy to sit back on your high horse and be glib about everything Wiz.....but you are never one to come up with solutions, just problems about how much everyone is paid......Jesus I would love you to work for me. Don't worry I dont spit on my dick either!

      • Funny how you claim to be the big expert on business , but I'm assuming that when you ran your second hand store you had to ensure that you're return on investments were of value .Well guess what . I'm responsible for ensuring those below me are pulling their weight and those I've hired are returning their investment or else .

Telling the board that Poppa tries his guts out just ain't gonna cut it if we aren't making budget .  Poppas reporting to me twice daily with his plans , goals ,and results and them Poppas gone .
