James Willis on Continuous call team before Souths v Roosters commented on Parramatta te-signing their assistants after fans blew up his phone and the phone line he mentioned he rang links at Parramatta and they denied the story.
Now of course does not mean it is not real, good chance it is fair dinkum the case they did sign but then again why not announce it? Unless they have a cooling off period to abide by or waiting after the result of the Melbourne game to see if they can announce it after a win? Doubt it but why would it be written in SMH if false but denied if true? Confusing times ahead and believe it is not set in stone
some mind games could well be happening at the moment

Prosehenko is usually on the money. He wouldn't have written the peice if he didn't have solid information
That's what im wondering, so again probably want to wait to announce themselves or wait to see how Melbourne game goes before announcing it, like imagine announcing it if we lose 60-6 for example aint going to go down well.
Yep he has a history of scoops from Parra. He clearly has contacts within the club as he regularly breaks stories about them using Parra sources.
Maybe it was leaked to gage how the fan base would react.
Again HKF it is very all over the place, like of course a club always says to a journu "it is not true" etc, but why say it for this? it is positive news in the sense for the club and the men involved (not for the fans) so why not announce it? I think logical reasoning is want to announce it in their own terms and see how we do tomorrow, or as Muttman said earlier a basic contract that can be ripped up with no payout (unlikely exactly that) or last option it is not true or it was a leak to try and sprouse the team into second gear and eliminate doubt in the team.
That last point of course is unlikely as BA himself would be asking if they did and if the club said no then it could rub them the wrong way or could be an unknown leak or anything. As i said at the end there could be some games being played at the moment, Kent said in a podcast last year about coaches he said teams always seek out news in the media for fan reactions before deciding what to do with a coach. Now i could be way off track but it could be the case, or not and it is real and the club are being secret to name it themselves
All we can do is wait. A win tomorrow may make it announced sooner.
Come on, there is no chance at all that the club needed this episode to gauge fan reaction. Pretty sure the last 6-8 weeks of outrage from fans and members is crystal clear.
Maybe but I think and said elsewhere that having Kidwell especially resigned it puts a plug in a hole if Kidwell was to be punted with a new coach. Next year its likely that it will be the last year of the 3 of them.
Why re-sign them if there is a strong chance it is there last year, I'd rather give BA the last year and have a shot with new people around him
Keeping them is a wasted year rather try something new or rebuild at least then they're trying
Maybe it's not a big deal worth announcing? Assistants are just club employees, not too dissimilar to people who work in Head Office. Most people have employment contracts, doesn't mean they can't be removed/ replaced. I'm waiting until the end of the season to judge this one.
If that is the case why not just say "yeah we did" if it is not a big deal? if they say yes then the only thing bad to happen is fan outrage, nothing negative for the players.
Mutt do you think yourself it could be a simple contract that if the club decide to keep BA the assistants are ready to go, if they don't keep him then they can leave too but mainly this deal is to have them ready if BA is there guy at seasons end and to take pressure off for the mean time or is that too far fetched?
