2019 line up

This is my predicted full strength side

hopefully our young gun forwards (Kaufusi, Niukore,

Utoikamanu put a lot of pressure on our struggling older forwards

  1. Clint Gutherson
  2. Maika Sivo
  3. Michael Jennings
  4. Blake Ferguson
  5. George Jennings
  6. Mitchell Moses
  7. Dylan Brown
  8. Daniel Alvaro
  9. Reed Mahoney
  10. Junior Paulo
  11. Manu Ma’u
  12. Shaun Lane
  13. Nathan Brown
  14. Kaysa Pritchard
  15. Tim Mannah
  16. Kane Evans
  17. Tepai Moeroa

What are your thoughts? Only thing I think were lacking is experience and leadership.

  • I think thats pretty close to what we will see id expect either of kaysa/smith/stone/salmon to be the 14
  • There has to be a spot for Niukore and Terepo, I would replace Evans with Terepo and possibly Niukore for Moeroa. Stone could be a Smokey as a back up for Mahoney.

I think we will sign a centre before the start of the season and Fergo will stay on the wing.

I am also looking forward to seeing Utoikamanu, Kaufusi and Parry develop, it's not all doom and gloom, bring on 2019.

  • Guth

    gennings

    mennings

    salmon

    fergo would be closer imo

no kaysa on bench replace him with peni and Evan or Kaufusi

  • Tim should be well down pecking order and not considered until injuries really hit. Replace him with Oregon. Kane better improve big time from last year otherwise same comments with Tim, replace him with Terepo.

    My team:

    1.  French

    2.  Sivo

    3.  Salmon

    4.  Mennings/Parry

    5.  Ferguson

    6.  Gutho

    7.  Moses

    8.  Paulo

    9.  Pritchard (Mahoney first choice but not in top 30)

    10. Alvaro

    11. Ma'u

    12. Lane

    13. Brown

    14. Taka/Stone (utility)

    15. Kaufusi

    16. Moeroa/Niukore

    17. Terepo

Although your team is probably what BA will pick. Stay with the old guard that failed miserably this year.

  • My understanding is that Reed Mahoney is not part of the top 30 and can only play if there are injuries and with special permission from NRL. His status may have changed recently...
    • Fathead, on the Eels web site there are 31 players listed, including Norman and Mahoney, with Norman gone and no other signings on the horizon Mahoney maybe promoted into the top 30. This also includes Utoikamanu, who I thought was a development player along with Mahoney. The club should state on there site what players are development.

      • Absolutely they should.

    • This is correct but from what I’ve been told he will be upgraded soon, some complications with $$ withholding it atm

      • Excellent

  • There is some merit in the team you've put forward, particularly the spine.  The review established the strategy for the Eels to be a development club and I would expect the starting team will be a statement to that effect. It would be a gutsy move to pick Ferguson anywhere but the wing after his 2018 season.  I think the team could look like:

    1. Clint Gutherson
    2. Blake Ferguson
    3. Michael Jennings
    4. Parry/Salmon
    5. George Jennings
    6. Mitchell Moses
    7. Dylan Brown
    8. Daniel Alvaro
    9. Reed Mahoney
    10. Junior Paulo
    11. Tepai Moeroa
    12. Shaun Lane
    13. Nathan Brown
    14. Salmon/Stone
    15. Tim Mannah
    16. Marata Nuikore
    17. Kaufasi or Manu Ma’u
