We all can look forward to 2016 with some hope. Despite the challenges we have faced this year some of our boys have achieved the following.
Stats up to ROUND 24, (obviously not including this weekend’s efforts)
*Semi Redradra looking to be this year’s leading try scorer (despite missing so many games at the start of the season), currently at 21 tries (now 22, for Round 25), leading also on line breaks at 22 and on the Leading Point Scorers on 16th position with 84 points (2598 metres run)
*Tim Mannah with 2393 metres run, 621 tackles and 269 hit ups
*Manu Mau with 579 tackles, 271 hit ups, and 2256 metres run
*Reece Robinson with 52 points, 1794 metres run
*Junior Paulo with 269 tackes, 1457 meters run (remember that he had a very long suspension, otherwise this would be so much more)
Those with interrupted seasons or early exists due to injuries:
*Nathan Peats, 6th on tackles with 912 (even with his injuries and early exit this season, outstanding defence!)
*Anthony Watmough 557 tackles, 1551 metres run
*Danny Wicks 467 tackles, 1703 meters run
*Brad Takarangi, 18th on try assists with 11 assists
We are looking pretty good for next year with:
*Michael Gordon (acquired from Sharks) at 6th position on the leading point scorers’ table with 138 pts.
*Kieran Foran, 16th on try assists with 11 assists
*Beau Scott (acquired from Knights) at 19th position in offloads with 26 offloads.
As a team we are 6th in the league on Top Try Assists, with 72 try assists.
However, we need to work on THREE very important things:
*Self Belief / Confidence
*Defence on the right side
*Adapting our offence to changing conditions late in the game
1986 – 2016, 30 years later... will 2016 be The Eels' Dawn Of A New Destiny?
With one game left in the season, and hoping for a 10th position finish, I really believe that we will be a top 6 team next year.
I believe so!

I was sitting right in front of that final 'so called try' that the Warriors were awarded at Pirtek. But, that's the way it goes with Parra and refs! It was a bittersweet game, as was the last one against the Rabbits, had things gone differently...
I hope so! It's about time. We started so well this year...so many unexpected dramas, but hopefully we can start moving forward from mistakes of the past.
