2015 predictions

Of course im gonna predict us winning the comp as every Eels fan would, however we will definatley make the semi's after 5 long years.
However here are a few predictions I'd like to make and look back this time next year and see if I was right or not. More likely nowhere near getting 1 right. And this is Opinionated not fact so take this as my personal opinion

1.Chrissy Sandow to win 2015 Dally M medal, about time People have jumped on the Sandow band wagon. Ive been a huge fan of Chrissy from the day he signed and never looked back, start of this season people were preferring Kelly to Sandow and what happened?, Eels player of the year and top 10 in Dally M count. However as much as I love Sandow, I did question can he wins us a premiership. From 2014 yes he can, and 2015 will be the year of Sandow.

2. Norman to be dropped mid-year in favour of Matterson. Who to play at 6?, a skinny legged, disorganised, deer in the headlights runner who did not have a standout game to call his own? or a rising kid who is big enough to play Lock and led the Holden Cup team to near GF glory?. Yes there is no guarantee that Matterson will work out and who knows Norman could become a focal point of the Parramatta back-line but I think Norman's time in First Grade is ticking and Matterson re-signing for 3 more seasons is first warning.

3.Danny Wicks to take over Gower as Cult hero of the year. A player who wants to prove himself when not many teams wouldn't even look at him, Wicks will give his all in the blue and gold and that's something some forwards were missing this year with many forwards having a reputation of being Lazy. Not Wicks, on a one-year deal will try to make it another year, than another year, than another year and he will be a valuable asset to the Eels bench

4.Tepai Moeroa to be breakout player of the year. Yes he did breakout this year, but he was never mentioned by anyone how good he is. though in 2015, every sports channel who are covering the Eels will have this 19 year olds name on there lips, as he makes his way to being one of the faces of this franchise by being a tough as nails back-rower this consistently weak team has craved for years, and finally a kid that will be a household name from the Eels, 1st time since Hayne came on the scene.

5.Nathan Peats to make his NSW debut and slowly take over that No.9 blues jersey. Peats one of the surprise successes of 2014. Fans expected him to be good. But we didn't expect him to be that good, he was arguably the reason why we had such a good opening 13 rounds of the season, we got hammered by 40 or more 5 times, Peats appeared in only 1 of those, theres proof to his importance of us moving forward. He will be a future leader of this club and league in years to come.

6.Bureta Faraimo the surprise player of the year. No Sio means no.5 is up for grabs and Faraimo has every chance of getting it and will get now hes had a go at the top grade 2 games wont be enough. Going up against Toutai, Crooks, Goodall and Folau, his build and discipline will place him along side Hopoate in 2015

Player of the year: Sandow & Hayne
Rookie of the year: Matterson
NSW representatives: Hayne, Watmough and Peats
Australia representatives: Hayne and Watmough
City representatives: Gower, Peats and Hopoate

And Finally Parramatta to finish 5th

please feel free to disagree if you do. again its opinion not fact, just a bit of fun and for discussion

  • 7) Dugan will be dropped from NSW side replaced by Dylan Walker

    • Doubt it Daley has a hard on for Dugan! I'd prefer walker aswell though
  • I predict I'll start to believe that we can achieve great things then be left heart broken I'll say I give up then I'll put my self through it all over again.
  • I predicted it will all happening next year
  • ONLY IF WE PLAY OUR HOME GAMES AT PARRA STADIUM WHERE WE ENJOY GREAT SUCCESS IN FRONT OF OUR VERY VOCAL FANS< WHICH IN TURNS INFLUENCES THE REFS IN THE PENALTY LOTTO SYSTEM THAT NOW APPLIES TO ALL GAMES.

    • and wear the blue jersey

  • That's a bit harsh. Dugan had an outstanding year at Centre. I'd prefer Morris to be dropped for Walker tbh. Morris was very average this season.
