2015 Eels Fearsome Forward Pack

Will there be a more fearsome second row/lock combination in the NRL next year than our mob:Anthony WatmoughManu Ma'uKenny EdwardsThat combination could be the hardest working and most aggressive in the competition.Throw in Peats at Hooker and Junior Paulo at Prop ... Then having the likes of Maeroa, Wicks and Lussick off the bench. I can't remember the last time I've been more excited about the prospect of our forward pack leading into a season.Thoughts people??

  • By the way, I was talking aggressive players .. This is why I omitted (the lover, not fighter) Timmy Mannah from the conversation.
  • Yes great pack. Im pumped!
  • Good to see such enthusiasm, but a reality check is needed here.

Watmough is 32 and wont offer that much, except for a pension. Ma'u needs another 15kgs to be effective. Who out of this pack would walk into any other first grade team?

    • Mau needs more weight to be effective? Definately questionable. He was pretty effective at the start of the season due to his pace and abiltity to change direction at the line, id say he has the perfect balance atm and if he puts on weight he might lose a bit of speed.

    • 15kgs he'll look like George Rose
    • Bit harsh . Peats,Tepai, Ma'u, Edwards Jnr, Mannah Gower Watmough. You don't think they are first grade standard?

  • I think we are developing and aggressive forward pack but you are looking at the wrong players.

Tepai, Paul Pauli and Junior will set the standard IMO.
    • Tepai and Junior look the goods

But Pauli not close yet, could be great.
  • I think David Gower should be included in this.

He may not be aggressive but he knows how to make metres and he runs good lines and has good skills.

We need more big props in the style of the Bulldogs props. Guys who are big but have smarts and can throw a good pass.

I was very impressed with Aiden Tolman's game against the Storm. His combination with James Graham was scintillating.

  • I think with another off season together, they can only get better

Im really looking forward to 2015

I reckon if Semi, Haynes or Sivo had persisted in the NRL we might be talking about them breaking the NRL try scoring record. I think Semi and Hayne were close to 1 try per game average over 100 games? Thoughts?
