  • Noticed there are two marked Coming Soon, it must be Sonny Bill and Quade Cooper.
  • I'd say that the two vacant spots that they say coming soon are for Chris Hicks and Paul Whatuira.
Surprised that Patrick O'Hanlon isn't there.
Really thought he would be, given the potential star he will be in the future.
  • Reni Matua is not there either
  • Also surprised Loko hasn't been included. Rory Brien has been included though and they have described him as primarily a centre, which is interesting.

No profile for Brad Murray! Karl Filiga included and centre put down as his position.

Looks like this is basically our 2011 roster

    Fullbacks:
    Hayne, Burt, Atkins, Humble

    Wing:

Burt, Hicks, Walker, Atkins, Uaisele, Loko

    Centre/s:
Reddy, Whatuira, Filiga, Atkins, Brien, Loko

    Halves:
    Mortimer, Robson, McGuire, Humble, Murray

    Second Row:
Hindmarsh, Smith, Horo, Shackleton, Lasalo, O'Hanlon, Brien

    Front Row:

Moimoi, Poore, Mannah, Webb, Manafakoa, Peletelese, Allgood

    Hooker:
    Keating, McGuire, Mitchell

  • Reni isnt allowed to have any contact with the club till his contract begins in May, including coach Kearney. Once mid May (i think) rolls around, expect his Profile to appear.

  • Of course Patrick O'Hanlon isn't there - he is not a part of the NRL squad - he is Toyota cup
    • Well Brien, O'Hanlon, Loko etc. have been training with the FG squad, and it's a bit unusual that given that Brien also played Toyota Cup last year that he is named in the FG squad, but O'Hanlon isn't.
  • Could they still have more to add Phil apart from Hicks and Whatuira, or would that be it?
Just find it strange that there's no O'Hanlon or Loko listed there.
Looks like they might be playing them in the NYC and NSW Cup then?

Still though, not a bad side overall, and pretty good depth in most positions too.
    • It will be interesting to see how O'Hanlon and Loko will be used - whether its in NYC or NSW Cup.

I know that quite a few of the boys who were able to play SG Ball this year like Jacob Gagan and Vai Toutai have gone straight into the NYC squad. That kind of suggests to me that they will push through the more talented boys to play in the senior grades sooner rather than later. I think that's the right thing to do, personally - O'Hanlon has also played two full seasons of NYC - he needs to play against men now and Jacob's not going to learn anything running over the top of boys in the Under 20s.
      • In a way, it seems like they're almost grooming them for the big-time.
The one year contracts for Hicks and Whatuira in particular, make me think that come 2012, they're expecting Loko to play a big part in the Eels team, which he's more than capable of doing.

Well when you're as talented as some of those SG Ball players that the Eels have coming through, why not give them a crack at the NYC.
Especially Gagan. The kid is a freak.

Looking forward to seeing Loko and O'Hanlon in action, as well as the NYC squad.
Hopefully, I can head to some of Wenty's games, and not just NYC games and the FG squad games :)
