I'd like to let everyone know that Elliott Richardson, who you would know as SuperEel 22, has been given an official role on 1Eyed Eel as Deputy Editor.
Elliott is a young man, who has impressed me greatly with his posts both in terms of his writing ability and his thoughtful ideas and he has shown a keenness to get more involved in the running of the site.
While Elliott will have moderation privileges, his involvement will be more in relation to helping me drive the content on the site. As you would have seen particularly over the last year my ability to write and be active on the site ebbs and flows depending on my business demands. As such, I've never been able to quite get any traction on some of the ways I wanted to run the site like the Blog of the Day and such.
With Elliott assistance's, I think we'll be able to provide a lot more consistency in terms of the content creation and management.
In my professional career as an editor I've always gotten a lot of satisfaction out of mentoring young writers, and I'm looking forward to working with Elliott in a similar capacity.
So I hope you all join me in thanking Elliott for volunteering his time in this official capacity and welcoming him to the role!

It's a 5 year plan aimed at developing talent and installing structures.

I forgot to say that Phil offered me this position of Deputy Editor a few weeks ago, he told me i was a stand out n he begged me to take up the position for the good of the site, he also stated that he was relying on me to keep bongo honest on here, and the best way to do that was to give me the deputy position, i thought very hard about it, but in the end i had to say no due to a conflict of interest.
It was then after he asked me who i thought the job should go to that i recommended Supereel22 for the position, although he is a bit green n still wet behind the ears from just being born, i thought that his youthfull energy could be a plus for the site in the future....
so Elliot, to sum it up, you have a lot to thank me for, you owe me big time, and Phil, sorry mate, i want to thank you for asking me first, i know your still upset by my turning down the position, but i will do my best to mentor the young green horn Elliot with you, cheers, snake
I'm looking at installing a new structure I think will help the lads perform. I feel we've needed structure for a long time and that my appointment is a step in the right direction. I'll be looking to develop our juniors at the expense of some of our key signings and hopefully we can bore other sites to death with our simple structures.
PS: All said tongue in cheek. Mainly aimed at SK.
