  • Tragic, the conclusion of the replay is possibly the darkest moment of my life.
For all of you who blame Cronin for missing "an easy conversion" watch the first game and then comment on how easy it was.
  • I'm in for both

    • 1977 haunts us all!! Thanks for the 1985 challenge cup final. It was on my wedding night and my wife has NEVER forgiven me

  • I still find it very hard to watch. This is the first time I have seen extended highlights of both games and I really cant bring myself to watch it all - I agree, too painful PM

  • What a lot of you might not know is that Penfolds sponsored St George and the referee worked for Penfolds, most one sided refereeing in a game that I have ever seen

  • I was at these games, and feel like vomiting for both the results, and wee scotty’s comment above.

  • You had to bring that up, absolutely devastating. Shattered for weeks.
  • Regrettably and in hindsight, St George was the side that troubled Parra the most in 77

They were virtually unstoppable losing to only StG (wk2) Manly(wk 15)  then Sharks in last week before finals

    Versus manly in 77

    Round 4          W 24-15

    Round 15         L  11-13

    Versus StG in 77

    Round 2         L     8-21

    Round 12       W  11-10

    Maj Semi       L     5-10

    GFinal           D      9-9

    GFinal R        L     0-22

Every other team in the comp we beat twice !!!

and statistically - our defense was 5th out of 12 - we remember the 1977 side fondly because of the wins and all the points

Ironically - the team with the best defensive record in 1977 (Easts) knocked out Parra of the Amco Cup 19-2

Parra only got well beaten by StG and Easts but had it's trouble Manly 77 - all better defensively

The Dragons had our number in 77 - didn't know it at the time - but I do now

    haunted....haunted !!

Parrafan101 replied to Davos Seaworth's discussion Stephen Kearney vibes from Gomer Ryles.
"If Ryles had the players he wanted we would have been firing on all cylinders. But since we can't sign anyone to improve the other players around them, stick around for more false flags like this."
