I already mentioned this in a thread yesterday, but I just keep getting frustrated seeing news articles talking about us needing 12 wins from 15 games and saying it's impossible, when it's not entirely accurate.
Yes, most years the cutoff for the top 8 is 28 points. But with the eels being stripped of 12 points, this year is no longer your usual year. Look at last year for example, and surely enough the team in 8th finished on 28 points. But if, like this year one of those teams in the top 8 were stripped of 12 points, all of a sudden, 8th place has 26 points and it's a whole different story. It has actually been the case for 3 of the past 5 years by my calculations, so it's not like it's some anomaly either.
Just food for thought.
P.s maybe I'm just being an idiot?

We wont get 12 wins form 15 the NRL will not let us I said all along the NRL don't wont us in the top 8 I been saying this since round 1 now I am right so three cheers to me
Yes but we were the team striped of the 12 points not another team so your calculations don't work. 26 might still be the number though in a tight comp.
How is it any different? Look at the broncos/cowboys last year, finished on 38 points with 17 wins, if they were stripped of 12 points they still make the 8 on 26 points. How is that any different to our situation this year?
It's all fine if the cut off is 26 points but it might be 28. I hope it is 26.
Actually last year the dragons came 8th with 24 points.
Do we still get 4 points from the 2 byes?? LOL
