10 things we learnt against the Storm

This blog is dedicated to those true unicorns amongst us.1. Danny Wicks is a premiership starting forward in the making, bit of young steve price/brent kite in him. We need this guy as most teams that win comps have very good props. The way he hit the line is just amazing, very tough.2. Timmothy is extremely one dimensional FULL STOP. He is so easy to read in the fact he will cart it up and dive at the tacklers feet as all he seems to care about is being turtles. He needs to off load every now and again and stop diving at tacklers feet every hit up. DW may even be the making of turning Mannah around, it Mannah learns from him.2. Hoppa is a world class centre, he is back where he belongs and will carve it up.3. Nathan Peats is a 80 minute player. He is an exceptional player. The tone of the game changed with him coming off.4. IDG must have in his contract that he must play every game. If so, release him now. He is a back up and should only be used as such.5. Semi its good to have you back. You just improve every week and are an asset to this organisation.6. Sando is a good player.......perhaps even better than Sterlo.....his issue is his decision making. Sit him down in from of a video, ask what he was thinking and then give him other options which he could have taken. He needs to create pressure, not score a try off every touch. So I dont know what the coaches are doing. Follow this advice and he will get there.7. Morgs is our solution at wing for the rest of the year. He will only get better.8. Sefa. He should play like Mannah (see point 2). Just tuck the ball and run at the line. In fact he is the opposite of Timmothy one dimension....he looks to pass 3 meters before the line at every play and crabs. If her plays like Tim for a week or two perhaps he might run into the form everyone in selecting rep teams seems to notice9. I am a firm believer in playing the whistle and we should not bag refs. NEVER. There were even some calls that parra got yesterday that were unexpected. Overall, we never seem to get the rub of the green. If we played better we would be ref'd b better.10. BA should stop treating the bench like his best mates. I wont go into too much here as other blogs have stated it, our 14-17 is just no good, which means we have no depth. So whom is responsible for lack of depth? certainly not BA. I wonder whom does our recuritment and team selection. If team selection rests exclusively with BA, someone needs to step in and tell him his bench selecting has to CHANGE.

  • Sorry, but I can't seem to get past Point Number 6.

  • You obviously never saw Sterlo play
  • Lol

  • Granted, there was a lot of hyperbole in point 6. But what solution do we have for the rest of the year? There is no one in the wings. I want to win games this year, not wait for next. Chrissy has ability, he just needs to be taught to think a bit. If he can manage that we will be in good hands for the rest of the year. and perhaps a few wins in a row (would be nice)
    • If he hasn't learnt yet he never will
  • 6.....???????WTF????????

Sterlo was a GENERAL. No one read the game/ the oppositions weakness's like Sterlo.

He was a marked man every game as the opposition knew if they could take him out of the game, half the game was won.

Jack Gibson was a coach for 20-25 years and said the best player he ever saw was Sterlo!!!

You are talking about arguably the best half back in the game EVER.

  • A few wins in a row? At this point, even losing by less than 10 would be a bonus.
  • Had a LOL at #2..Hoppa is world class my foot. Should be on the wing or in the reggies.

  • Thanks for the blog boss No1bosseel; some interesting points and point 6 is very questionable to say the least; but you are entitled to your view mate.

  • Wicks is solid but I think you are overhyping him mate. Same goes for hoppa.
