That's been the case this season for Parramatta. Unable to be consistent. After a couple of positive games the Eels went back to their old ways against the Rabbitohs. It seemed as if the Parra season had taken an upwards turn when they beat the highly fancied Sharks 2 weeks ago but this has turned out to be false. On a wet night the Eels looked a shadow of the team that put in a spirited performance against the Sharks. Passes went to ground, tackles missed and kicks missed their marks. Some players were guilty of trying the wrong thing at the wrong time and others simply weren't trying at all.
There's both a coaching and attitude issue in the team and they are interrelated. The Eels have just 1 play in the attacking zone and it can be telegraphed by a blind man. This is a clear coaching issue as we can't even get that right. The play is too slow or players get in the way of others. The coach's role is to prepare his players as best he can for each match and address issues that arise. This clearly isn't happening. Kearney talks of structure yet they showed very little tonight. The 2 times he has given licence to Ben Roberts and Chris Sandow we have won twice. We can't do any worse than what we are doing now. We might as well try something that works. Being at the game I was impressed with the crowd turnout but I was increasingly frustrated by how slow and predictable our play was.
For me, Kearney has to resign at the end of the season or be sacked. He can't be coaching in the NRL next season given his record so far. He's been given ample opportunity to prove himself and has not provided any indication he is moving this team forward. He's in a performance based job and he simply isn't performing.
On a final note I feel sorry for both Hindmarsh and Burt, who, as club legends, will retire without a premiership to their names. They embody what it means to play for Parramatta and they will be sorely missed by the team and the supporters. I'm sure by the end of Round 26 there will not be a dry eye in the Stadium.

I agree.
The change needs to come from the top, SK has to go.
You are way to nice waiting until the end of the season, he needs to go now, so that we can win a few games this year to take some momentum into next year. We can't let a couple of legends go out holding the spoon.
