$1 mill players

After his Manly game and season in general it is clear now it will take 1 mill to keep Dyl and with Moses probably tying with Reynolds in being the second best half in the comp there is another 1 mill to keep him.
It is now clear why the club could not spend overs on Reed and Ice (still hope Ice will stay)

The club has done a good job managing the roster and keeping Gutho, Reg and Junior.

If and it is a solid if they can keep Moses, Dyl, Penisini and Ice as well as bringing in Hopgood from panthers who looks like a gun the club has done very well and O'Neill and BA deserve some credit.

  • A lot of players realise to be in a successful team, you need to have good players around you. Your goal in footy life is to win a competition, so they know their has to be balance.

    • Yes, but that equally applies to guys playing in non essential positions like your edge forwards, centres & wingers. Their jobs are much harder without quality playmakers.
Whilst you're hoping that your playmakers are prepared to take a little less, at the the end of the day there are very few truly quality playmakers and when you've got 'em you gotta pay them as much as it takes for as long as you can.

Do Manly really regret giving DCE a 10 year contract ?

      Not really.

      • I thought DCE was overated at first  but I think the last 3 or so years he provides much.  Manly going ok without their X factor player this year.  DCE , Cleary,  Hunt, Hynes and Townsend can't all be below second and all playing SOO and for Australia this year. Special mention to Reynolds and Hastings missing out.  Which one is above Moses?  My one eyed Eel son  thinks you need to throw the book at Ben Hunt if you are serious and hurry he is in his thirties.

      • You mention Manly, but at one point they had 3 million in DCE, Tom and Jake and they either missed finals or scraped in. You telling me tying up 30 per cent of your cap in 3 players is wise? I'd say it gives you a strong 13 but no depth beyond that.

  • Brown would have to be a priority at his age now he is a must sign I think can't let him go even if we lose Moses

  • Moses the second best half in the competition? If you're not named Mitchell and you're being serious then ydksarl. J Arthur proved against Manly the value that MM provides.

He still lacks fundamental game management skills ffs.

    • Who are the better halves and please don't say chad Townsend because they brought him into soo.

      • There's a bloke running around at the panthers that goes ok

        • Yeah that's why I said Moses was equal second best with Reynolds

          • Sorry Steve misread the blog
