What Jason Demetriou’s axing as South Sydney coach means for struggling powerhouse Parramatta Eels

From the Daily TelegraphThe axing of South Sydney coach Jason Demetriou turns the blowtorch onto another struggling mentor in Parramatta’s Brad Arthur, adding a layer of intrigue to the Rabbitohs’ pursuit of Wayne Bennett.Demetriou and Eels coach Arthur started the week as the NRL’s most under-pressure coaches. Now, Demetriou no longer has a job. Arthur has the unwavering support of Parramatta powerbrokers but with the Eels facing another season of finals oblivion, the coach’s job security is…

THE TALE OF TWO CLUBS

Read the article below, and compare the differences between the bunnies management and the rubbish that Parramatta has had since 2017. Souths  don't sit back and tolerate failure or make excuses for it like the eels do and you only need read the part about  how the loss to the storm was the final straw.  In contrast, when Parramatta got humiliated in a record loss by the storm in 2018 when the bush coach was steering the club to the wooden spoon the eels board gave him a new contact. Like I…

NRL teams Round 9 live: Mitchell Moses eyes early return, big guns back for Titans and Dolphins

**MITCHELL MOSES EYES EARLY RETURN** Mitchell Moses will undergo x-rays on his fractured foot on Wednesday in a bid to make an earlier than expected comeback. The outcome of the scans could prove definining for both a Parramatta side desperate for their playmaker to return and so too NSW State of Origin coach Michael Maguire. Moses was originally slated to return in round 12 against South Sydney, just 24-hours prior to the NSW Blues side for Origin I being named. Not wanting to put any pressure…

NRL admits bunker got it wrong on roosters obstruction call

Graham Annesley has conceded a controversial obstruction call that cost Roosters star Joey Manu a fair try against the Panthers was wrong. The NRL head of football has wasted no time conceding that video referee Chris Butler failed to use the necessary level of discretion in incorrectly deeming that Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards was obstructed from defending the no-try due to a collision with Roosters decoy runner Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. The alleged obstruction from Waerea-Hargreaves on…

Nuclear Power a Balanced View

I previously wrote a blog on the subject of nuclear power.Professor Daz basically took my comments apart and justifiably so as I had nowhere near the knowledge or research capacity to lay a factual basis for the proliferation of nuclear power other than a view I privately held via an economist friend of mineI receive a lot of economic commentary and a newsletter I receive from another economist paints what I believe to be a more balanced view of the discussion. I say this because Daz pointed…
