I hate rumours. HATE EM.
What I'm blogging now is not a rumour and I want to be very careful how I word this blog. A person has given me the OK to write the below, however I'm no to mention the player or my connection by name.
As I've recently mentioned in a previous blog, I have by SHEER LUCK become an aquaintance of someone who is heavily involved with the board of directors.
There is a very high profile player who is very close to coming to the eels. I was told that as soon as SK was signed, a player had his manager knocking down Parra's doors. It is so serious that it was ACTUALLY TODAY that we almost had his signature. That's right, today.
What WAS sorted out today is that this particular player has had his management ask his current club for an offical release and the first indication was that he cub were going to agree. It was quoted to me that the player had said "I don't feel we are on the same page regarding playing styles, coaching staff or recruitment and I feel now that this club that I love needs to move forward without me". This quote was sent to me via SMS from my connection.
On Tusday 05.10.2010 this player's mangement had noified the eels that a decision should be made by Friday 08.10.2010, however the current club is still going over the legalities of the contract.
The Eels do have a current verbal agreement (hate them too, but nevertheless) with this player that if the release goes through, then the eels are the ONLY NRL option. Below I have listed the two major speed bumps that were told to me;
- They may do a back-flip altogether (this doesn't tend to happen too often if the player admits to wanting out; No one likes an unhappy player)
- The worrying one - The club apparently has every right to limit the options of where a player being released can go ie; union, overseas etc, however players of this stature are a little harder to push out of the game than our average players.
Look, I know the replys are gonna be negative "More bullshit" "yawn" "Source???' bla bla bla, and honestly, I don't give a shit, however I will keep you guys upated on anything I hear regardless, and if I'm wroing, you HAVE MY WORD there will be never again a rumour from me. I'll only add to blogs if I see fit. THAT"S how confident I am about the truth of this
