Parramatta Eels sign Roosters prop Kane Evans

Kane Evans to join Parramatta next year on a three-year contract

Parramatta Eels Rugby League Club Pty Limited has signed towering Sydney Roosters prop forward Kane Evans on a three-year contract commencing in the 2018 NRL Season.

Kane made his first grade debut for the Roosters in 2014 against the Parramatta Eels.

“We’re excited to add more depth to our forward pack; Kane’s size and aggression adds another dimension to our playing squad for next season,” said Head Coach Brad Arthur.

The 25 year old is a Fijian international, New South Wales City and World All Stars representative.

  • Surely he is not 25, wasn't he in the under 20's only two years ago?
    • He's been playing first grade since 2014.

    • My guess would be thay exact thought. They are probably hoping for him to be released early, and we can announce as a bigger signing (press conference). He can't backflip as if he did sign all thise weeks ago, his 10 day cooling off period would have expired.
    • He's not even official and fox sports always talked him up about joining eels and tigers losing him for next year. My guess its semi official lol
    • Pretty sure they'd like to announce that he is coming to the Eels effectively immediately. The club must remain hopeful of that outcome.
  • about time now where is Mosses and the rest and who are we keeping out of these players

Off Contract 2017: Kirisome Auva'a, Bureta Faraimo, John Folau, David Gower, James Hasson, George Jennings, Cameron King, Cody Nelson, Marata Niukore, Rory O'Brien, Frank Pritchard, Jeff Robson, Scott Schulte, Will Smith, Kelepi Tanginoa, Peni Terepo, Honeti Tuha, Matthew Woods

    • Tuha is young and O'Brien is backup
    • Keepers - Auva'a - Faraimo (Back up) - Gowie (mentor for young forwards and very handy back up) - G Jennings (would love to see him have a crack at FG this year) - Cody Nelson - O'Brien - Cranky Frankie - Smith - Terepo.

      Probable retirement is Robbo.

      Not sure category - King,

Don't know enough about the following to comment - Niukore - Schulte (was good once but..???) Tuha - Woods

GORNE - Flopnow - Tanginoa (unless Wenty really need him)
