Help Needed

Hey all,

I have 2 sons one wants to be an apprentice mechanic and the other a carprentary apprenticeship. Just wondering if any of my 1eyedeel family knows of anybody looking for one. Sorry for asking but they have a pplied for quite a few and no response.

  • My advice to the son wanting to be a mechanic is don’t. I work in the automotive industry and its a dying trade. The work is just not there any more. Service intervals are increasing and with electrification of cars soon to be the norm there will be less work to do. I have friends with workshops who complain about 2 things, hard to find a good mechanic to employ and second, work drying up. If he wants to do it for about 10 years and then move on to something else then fine however as a long term career I would not consider it.
