Change of Topic! Pregnant Women Arrested

I know this is not footy related but as its very relevant to the current crisis (Pandemic) I would like to get peoples thoughts. I personally think its disgraceful for a pregnant lady to get arrested in her own home in front of her children just before having an ultra sound because she posted something on facebook. I mean whats this great nation coming to? Whats wrong with the state of Victoria? Why doesnt our Prime Minister step up and say enough is enough. Im all for obeying the laws of the land but this is bordering on insanity. I just think its disgraceful that a young pregnant mother could be treated this way in Australia.

  • I believe that the media has been very selective in highlighting the contribution that this female has been making to this matter. They have led to paint her as a poor innocent pregnant lady who just one day decided to organise a peaceful rally where in fact she is far from an oppportunist patriot. This depiction is for one thing and one thing only - to sell papers.  Media standards worldwide have never been lower.
I think what galls people off the most is that if she was black and organising a BLM rally, there is absolutely no way they would touch her.  Therein lies the disparity and big problem for the authorities. You can't selectively stand on a moral soapbox.

    • Worthy of an arrest, she deserved it just like anyone else. She quickly backtracked and removed her social media shit once she realised you can get punished even with the minority card at play

      • What actual crime did she commit?

  • Why does it matter that she was pregnant or had kids nearby? To me, the more important question is whether or not what she did was worthy of arrest. If yes, then all that other stuff is just side noise. If it was not worthy of arrest, then yes there's a serious problem there.

    • I think it does make a huge difference her being pregnant, in her own house and in front of her children. I mean this is Australia last time I checked its not 1935 Germany and even if the lady had committed a crime ( which is debatable) there are many alternative ways for the authorities to approach this person. What if it was your wife and in front of your children in your home? How would you feel?

  • Yeh nah. Mid-season, not off-season. Please refrain from further off topic posts. Only place this discussion is going to go is downhill.

    • Okay! No problems
