"The Titans thought Smithy was worth a 2 year contract. I agree with them. He's a better 14 than Stone and a better 6 or 7 than Arthur. He can also play fullback. But now the Titans have him so you can be happy?

Conflict of interest

So how do you manage a perceived possible conflict of interest with club decisions 🤔a coach has more than one child coming through the junior ranks ....... we have seen coaches with one like Cleary or Flanagan what about two 🤔what processes are in place to see retention and promotion are fair and just I see some difficulties I'm

What about this , are we the unluckiest club in modern times to lose a GF ?

I wasn't aware of this information , how many top shelf players could you retain for $454K in 1999 ? In 2000, the Newcastle Knights were fined $158,800 but did not have any points deducted after club officials revealed that they had exceeded the salary cap by a total of $454,100 and failed to disclose third-party payments during the 1998 and 1999 seasonsThe Newcastle Knights were fined $85,000 in 2002 but did not have any points deducted after it was found that they had exceeded the salary cap…

Randy on audio.

If I ask the most basic audio Question, "What part of your body do you use to hear with", most would deem it a silly question. Ears!!! Well, you are wrong. The specialised hairs lining our ears convert The frequency of sound waves, and their amplitude(volume) into electrical pulses(they are transducers, more later) but we cannnot hear these electrical signals. We hear with our brain. This may seem a silly distinction but it has more implications for subjective audio than almost anything else, so…

Norm Proven

Sad that Norm Proven has passed away. My condolences to all concerned. Norm coached the Eels for one year--forget which year. He did well considering the roster he took over-- many A-grade junior standard types. As I recall he just missed the finals. I was down watching them training one night and Norm was telling the team how to tackle! In those days there were generally only two in the tackle. Norm said the first one in goes low and the second in goes high ( to lock up the ball) I thought…

This is a preamble piece in discussion of BHP selling Oil and Gas assets to Woodside. Climate Alarmists maybe/should be alarmed.

The heading give's the rationale for the story, its the thinking process that should be interesting to a discerning reader. The article is written by an economist I greatly admire in Greg Canavan, when you read this you may pick up some more information about climate alarmism. It is not a climate change article. just like the previous one that has gone unread (so be it) but one that more of the "unwashed" should listen to and understand where we are going. Why am I publishing these things?…

Dan Denning is the author of this article, I have never cared much for him, BUT everyone needs to read this, regardless of your views

When the Lights Go out in SydneyMonday, 11 October 2021 —  By Dan DenningEditor, The Rum RebellionSome days you wake up and make the mistake of reading the news. And then the thought crosses your mind that maybe the human race ‘peaked’ with the Moon landing in 1969. That was the apex of our ability to accomplish complicated things. It’s all been downhill since. Not everyone might think that way. After all, today seems pretty amazing, if you measure it by the quantity and quality of our gadgets.…

If you're going to have a grizzly

When I was a pup, my father told me “If you’re going to have a bear, have a grizzly’His wisdom had the most impact on what I eat, I’ve always been a healthy eater as rule but like most, life is not worth living without indulging in the delights that aren’t on the healthy list.Sugar free drinks- Never, If I’m going to enjoy soft drink, which is usually in a bourbon, it must be the real deal.Low fat milk, cheese, yogurt, and anything that claims to be low fat, not interested, I’d rather eat less…
