There’s a lot riding on this game. Both reams really need the win to stay anywhere near the top four, and for confidence as much as anything. The Roosters could even drop out of the eight, whilst how scarred the Eels are after last Monday’s mauling by the rabid Bulldogs, in arguably the upset of the seaon, remains to be seen.

Since the Roosters beat us in 31-24 in round 10, they have lost 3 from 4, whilst we were demolished by regular bottom-dwellers 34-4 last week to put another few nails in our premiership coffins.

This comes after we won 2 close games against Manly and the Raiders, prior to the bye, giving fans false hopes that the Eels of old, the Strange but Perennial Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde could be tamed.

Whoever our shrink is, we need a new one or two. And a David Goggins.

But, there is some good news to come in this week's preview.
